Phantom Maturity In Flowering

Anyone ever experienced this? Similar to phantom pregnancies. The buds start turning a red colour, you think to yourself (maybe a little excitedly) one week to go...

Then about half way through that week they suddenly burst into life again, and look whiter than ever.

I have grown 4 successful grapefruit crops so far, and am looking at 5 and 6. In every one of these crops there's been a phantom maturity point.

I think it may have something to do with sativas, as this plant seemed to want to trick me close to the 8 week mark... the first crop, this worked and I immediately started to flush... Next thing I know it's week 10 and they still had a couple of weeks on them. I chose a mother and she flowers in just under 11 weeks.

Anyone else had this happen?

OK, here's the story. I bought a pack of grapefruit feminised. On the pack it stated an 8 week flower...

Coming up to the 50 day flower mark the pistils started to turn red, making me believe the plants were almost ready to harvest, despite them not starting to knot. anyway, i looked at the signs and started to flush... About a week later the plant has super budded and not a brown hair is in sight. this has happened on every single crop with this strain. Weird.

no clue what cause this, anything odd lately in your grow set-up?
i had once a odd one but that eaten anyway, good rabbits:D

no, really any clue on this? because i really would want to know what started this, just to know:)

No, definitely the strain. i have two different set-ups. It seems to go through a stage of getting ready, then boom it's gone into overdrive.

It's a lovely smoke though, the grapefruit. very dense, fluffy bud. stoney, sometimes trippy high.

If you ever grow it be prepared... it seems to flower forever.

which seedbank are they from? i start to get into this slowly, even if i won't buy those feminised seeds, but maybe they offer normal as well:D
