Send in the clones

I've been gradually changing my grow room round to how i want it, I'm getting closer but its far too much like hard work. I'm about 65% of the way there now.

These are how my clones are doing now, I'm really happy that they have stayed so short.

Well I decided that I only wanted to go for the best quality and the shorter flowering time.

I could quite easily grow 6 foot plants but its the time and nutrients they consume.

The height of these plants are perfect for me, they are around 12-18" tall and they are budding the whole height of the plant.

Here are some closer shots of how they are looking at 3 weeks flowering, before any of you say anything about their size, this is how i wanted them.

it will be interesting to see, from what I've read though they should still gain some height although although how much i dont know, there was one of my clones that was smaller than the rest and just didnt grow well. Its now about half the size of the others but filling up with bud everday.

These clones should also take less time to flower than a larger plant because there is less of it.

Nah, flowering is genetic. They'll flower at the same time. Mine are about 2-3 inches high and probably have about three or four nodes, lol. I reckon they'll probably make it to about 8 inches. I also put in two hydro's, so I can see which performs better, hydro or dwc.

I did the same and i found that the clone in hydro did bigger plants, probably because the roots can spread out the rockwool and take nutrients and moisture easily, if they have to travel around the pebbles first and then make it down to the solution its causing the plant more work for less gain.

But once the roots are through the pebbles, takes about a week to hit the solution below and spread about a bit. Then you get the explosive growth. Well you do in veg', anyway.

You're right though, the hydros are a few days younger yet seem to be handling things a little better. I'm hoping to see a marked change in the bubblers over the next few days.

I've been using 6" net pots though, and judging from the size of how my clones are now, and i do like them at this size I was figuring that I have my plants way to spaced out, I'm looking at some 3" net pots now and looking at what kind of distance i could keep them apart as a minimum.

Yeah, mine are 3" pots. I suppose it depends on the size of the cube you put in. With the la conf, I had to keep the level of the solution right at the base of the net pot. I also line the bottom of my net pots with rockwool to act as a sort of wick.

I use rockwool that come in a cylinder with about a 1.5" diameter, i give a single layer of pebbles at the bottom. I make up the solution with boost from day one but have a different solution without boost that i hand feed through the net pot until the roots have hit the solution, that way by time the roots hit they should be using the booster. I might try putting some rockwool at the bottom of a couple next time round and see what the difference is. I'm looking into doubling the amount of plants per system maybe more by getting net pots that are a quater of the size.

Thats exactly the road I'm heading down, after I had a good friend of mine come over and get me cloning I soon decided after some of the information he gave me just to go for main cola grows. You get all sorts of information around different places as to how many plants you can fit per square foot, some sites including overgrow have stated that you can go upto 9 per sq inch but I was unsure how that would work so unfortunately they are a little spaced out now, but i think I'm gonna go for 4-6 per square foot dependant on how things work out.

I didn't want to mention this before as i didn't want to put you off sog. but I feel it needs mentioning, were you ever to get caught... the court system could determine the difference between cultivation and production by how many plants you have. Cultivation maxes out at around 6 months, stays in magistrates. production will get you much longer and go to crown.
