what exactly is "bagseed"

years ago i was getting some indoor hydro that came out of humboldt. it was THE tastiest pot i've ever smoked. excellent high. i would call it A+++.
i was getting it for about 2 years, a 1/4 oz week. every once in awhile i would find 1 seed in my bag. i understand seeded pot is not sought after but a seed here or there is fine, i think.
so is this considered "bag seed"?
if so, why is it bad?
i've used these seeds in my breedings with favorable results, yet when i mention "crossed with some bagseed" i get really funny responses.
should i use a different term?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
 
well i think most people just say bagseed caus they didnt order it from a seedsbank or buy it somewhere, only got the seeds out of a bag
 
:joint: thats why i named mine WACKY BAG SEED..lol

the smoke is great and friend had seeds he was saving from lb's, i asked for a handfull and this is what you get.

dont know the stran but looks killer to me, thats why i call it WACKY.:peace:
 
The best results I ever got were from the dreaded Bag seed. I have payed for seed's but love getting lucky. I think we should call them something like Freebies, or Wonder seed's, Because we wonder what they are half the time.

that was my next thought, "more respect to the bagseed".

how about "golden eggs"?
 
NEW GrowFaq Bagseed's will no longer be called Bagseed's.

Seed's from good indoor shall be called.
Golden Egg's
Seed's from good outdoor shall be called.
Magic Bean's
Mystery seed's shall be called.
Freebies or Wonder Seed's

Any other names will be added at breeder wish.
You grow it you name it.....
 
altho i see nothing at all wrong with bagseed at all, as a matter of fact most of my outdoor grows were bagseed and i did get some pretty good yields from them. people (me included) like to know what they are getting and how best to grow a certain strain, whether its indica or sativa, maybe one likes a soaring racey sativa high, or another who needs it for pain prefers a stoned narcotic indica. if you just like weed and don't care about all the hoopla of certain strains and phenos etc. then "bagseed" is great you have free seeds=free buds minus the cost of growing mind you. just my 2cents.

BIGMIKE got lucky if those plants are from "bag"seed. Such nice uniformity!

And if they're clones..they're STILL fuckin damn nice!

Nice pic, fdd. Like plants in general, there are different strains of seeds too. Every once in a while high grade plants will produce the odd seed in mother nature's desperate attempt to perpetuate the species. The plant isn't exactly a hermie but is a female that somehow produces the odd seed. These seeds would be highly coveted, if it's mature enough to sprout. Then there is good weed that good seeded. This will be your mids or regs. I have a shitload of these that I've accumulated over the last few months. I'm keeping these either for a rainy day or to cross-breed with some of the high grade seeds that I will be buying. These seeds could produce a good smoke if you grow in good conditions. Then there is shwag or shit-weed. Very seedy and the quality sucks ass. Even if you grew in the optimal conditions, the smoke would still suck.
 
Most of my seeds right now come from not so good bag seed. I believe they will grow some decent weed because I'm taking what I learn here and growing it right. One thing I have learned is that how it's growed is more important.

I just bought a bag of what was supposed to be chronic and it did have a good taste and smell but not what you would expect from high dollar chronic.

I looked at it with a mag and I could tell that most the sticky hash stuff had been removed. Dry light fluffy. I wonder how they done that. Or maybe it was just real old.

Thank God for rollitup now I'll always have good clean potent smoke.

Can't wait till I get fdd and video level
