Budbox 2008!

I'm a first time grower and experimenting as much as possible.

Today I build a bud box to dry the buds!

Smell isn't a problem so no filter of any sort. I used a medium sized cardboard box. In a top corner I fixed a 90mm pc exhaust fan that is wired thorugh a master switch into a pc that can also control fan speeds.
There are four layers of string to hang buds on.
The box is completely air tight except for four 1in x 0.5in intake holes at the bottom of the box.

I have a few questions though...
Are there enough intake holes?
Should the fan be on constantly so that a gentle flow of air can move through the box?
I have a heat mat that could raise the temp up a little, I know not to go anywhere near 29c/84f. Should I use it?

Some pictures of the box
(a lower branch that snapped off yesterday is drying in the box)

cool little box but cardboard is generally a bad place to dry buds in because it sucks in moisture and can cause molds. It also is known to hold heat, old homes were insulated with shredded paper and cardboard is nothing but long paper fibers.

anyone have any comments?
I like the look of it.
As for cardboard causing moulds, I think it's about the humidity as much as anything.
Plenty of growers use carboard boxes, I have already dried a few buds in a box.
It wasn't vented either, I just closed it up and put it in the cupboard.
Obviously if you have several buds you need some air but I'm sure I have heard you don't want anything blowing onto your buds.
Therefore your set-up should be ideal.
I have a PC fan somewhere and am going to copy yours.

Edit: I just repped you for the box, I forgot to put my name on it.

when buds drying its recomended to avaid touching each other.

looks like theyre will be touching each other big time.

I don't know what you mean?
How will they be touching each other? The box is big enough for plenty of bud and space between the layers will prevent any touching...

So the idea is not have anyting blowing on the buds... Think I'm okay there.
The only fan is an exhaust and only on 20% of the day. I think I might add a few more vent holes so the intake of air isnt so concentrated...

Cheers for the advice Barking
