Actually, I think I do a fairly good job of coming up with more than fuck poor people.
1. Reduce the Size of Government
2. Balance the Budget
3. Pay off the National Debt
4. Abolish the 16th Amendment
5. Abolish the IRS
6. Replace Income Tax with a National Retail Sales Tax
7. Rejoice at the fact that April 15th is no longer Tax Day
8. Make April 15th a National Holiday, called, "Second Independence Day"
9. Switch back to market driven money supplies
10. Watch the economy take off with minimal inflation

Oh really? I can show you a paycheck stub that is gouged weekly by taxes, social security, medicare tax and state tax. If those taxes weren't hacked out of that same paycheck, we'd have a good $200 per week extra to live on and rich we are not.
Don't be trying to tell me that people who are struggling to survive aren't getting taxed on every check. It's a good thing all these "non-rich" people get to see their dollars handed to CEO's who blow more money in one day than these families have to survive on for a month.

Let's discuss this after you've paid over 40 THOUSAND dollars into social security alone, as me and my husband have. In all fairness, stalebiscuit, food and the various fuels don't cost more based on income, so you are ignoring the problem by saying that the rich pay 70% of the dollar amount of taxes. Take 50% away from $200,000 and you still have $100,000 to live on, but that isn't the case with $500.
Having said that, I don't think it is anybody's business to take anybody's hard-earned money, and if I earn $200,000 that's how much I want. Fortunately, there are many great things about the country that make me content to pay them for now.
I mean, I don't think there is an income tax in Somalia, if you guys really can't stand it here.
The republican party line is not "fuck poor people", mediman, any more than the democratic party line is "fuck enterprise". It may be that a common theme of political conservatives is a somewhat self-oriented one, but it comes down to feeling a social obligation towards others. Some people don't, and some people do, but it doesn't make them monsters if they don't. It is just the way they view the world. You obviously have a reason why you think people should help poor people, or you would not be so fired up about it, and I think you would be better served by sharing that, instead of just laying down vague insults that just make people cling defensively to these beliefs.

I think you would admit that there are right leaning citizens in every pay grade. Even poor people. "Fuck the poor people" is not an opinion solely owned by republicans. I think that when we quit looking at life changing issues like its a ball game with fans blindly pointing there foam fingers at the team they dislike we will be a lot better off. I could be way off base but it sounds to me like your trying to elevate yourself by pigeon holing 50% of voting Americans as ignorant. There is no encore or talking points. There is every day hard working people that are trying to do the right thing in life without the necessary tools. Across the board people are hurting right now and not because they lean left or right but because an overwhelming number of individuals do not want to be responsible for themselves anymore. They look to the government to solve their problems instead of not buying homes they cant afford or charging up credit cards they could never pay back or focusing on their education and raising children that respect themselves and others. I am not saying you are guilty of all of those things, not even close, but it seems to me that society is sliding down that road at record pace. At the end of the day, I'm not willing to point fingers at anyone but myself.

This is what I call an honest point of view, Kudos. We, My family, has had to reign in our lifestyle. We still enjoy breakfast out a couple a times a week, but we've definently felt the pinch and like millions, are a paycheck away from going belly up. We have some savings, but our expenses would blow throw that like a fart in a whirlwind. without my wifes salary, no way could we survive, we are basically supporting 7 people, My asshole stepdaughter and my darling grandkids. I'd personally throw the stepdaughter to the curb, but she threatons to take the grandkids and my wife can't bear that, so I have to put up with the bitch. Everyonce in a while, I get fed up and kick her out, but the wife gets panicked, so I let her back in. She knows I am a paper tiger and now shows me no fucking respect. One of these days I'll end up on the 6 O-Clock news, "Crazed man shoots stepdaughter in the knees and shoulders then waits 5 hours to watch her suffer then shoots her in head", Stranger things have happened.

Sounds like the situation my parents found themselves in with my older brother, luckily for them he doesn't have any kids, and I think even my mom is starting to get annoyed with his antics.
I'm not going to go into details, but that sucks Med, sorry.
I just hope my dad doesn't find himself in that 6 O' Clock news position, though I think both of them have finally reached their breaking point, where they are not going to extend a hand.
How can you help some one, repeatedly, if they refuse to change the behaviors that caused the problems in the first place?
