I figured this would work and it does. Not sure of the CFM, but Im useing it for a small closet op and a 400w HPS. Replace the carbon screens every other month or so. Works great. You can make this filter from general components around your house or any Home Depot. Attaches easy and quick in just seconds and not heavy at all. I would recommend it for small operations only unless you add more length. I used:

1- male 6inch to 7 inch adapter(metal, found in Heating and Air dept. at Hoime Depot)$3

1- male 7inch plug or end cap, found in the same section listed above. $3

1- roll of duct tape

1- Odor Control cut to size airfilter. Also found in the same section listed above. The filter must contain caron screen. $7

Get the end caps and the adapter. Cut the filter to your specific length with standard scissors. Measure twice and cut once. Once the filter is cut, I removed the extra green screen from the carbon filter. I then wraped the hard plastic screen and the carbon filter arond the end cap and tape it really good with duct tape. Then grap your adapter and wrap the filter around it. Tape the adapter to the filter. Make sure everything is sealed up nice and tight. You dont want any air to bypass the carbon screen. You might have to tape the filter in a couple diffrent places, but dont put any tape in the inside. It might get sucked into the filter. Hope this helps atleast someone not get popped because of the odor. Thanks and good luck. SS

and your room seems significantly smaller than mine, but I like your guys style and thinking. Let me ask you this. It seems like there is alot of space in the middle of the tube that could be used to put some activated carbon in? Especially if you have a fan like mine capable of moving over 500cfm. That would probably increase both odor masking abilities and longevity. Something similar to this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzkZgQkrT40

Lol I just made one very similar to this (same exact carbon pad) from HD. Package says the filter lasts 90 days but 30 is probably more accurate with a fan sucking on it.
