I have grown outdoors my entire life but am making the jump into indoor growing. I am a medical patient and its only legal to grow my stuff indoors & its also winter. I think this should be a fun learning process & I cant wait to see what i yield. My setup is a 5 bulb spider lamp. im just using some basic 45w 2700k and 1 30w 5000k for now... BUT im buying some 100w-300w equivalent 4200 lumen bulbs from home depot within the week.

dependin on the size ofthat lamp head that 68w 300w equ will not fit in that lamp. the base ofthem 68w are hugh.

UPDATES: I have added another light and a mini DWC bubbleponic system i made out of some stuff lying around the kitchen.i have never used hydroponics either, but I am using cotton balls as my hydroponic medium intead of rock wool. Its acctually working awesome and i have a sprout popping its head out so i know it worked. I also have sprouts out of the soil and losing seed heads on day 3. i cant wait to add the bigger 4200 lumen cfl's later this week!

P.S. any hydroponic advice would be awesomebongsmilie

Looks like those plants have a good amount of light! Right now having multiple seedlings in a cup isn't a problem but you're going to have to separate them soon if you want them to grow well. After 2 weeks they are all going to be completely crowded and roots will get tangled so you wont be able to separate the males easily. I know a bit about hydro but I dont know exactly what info youre asking for. Instead of those rocks in there you should get a medium that retains moisture such as hydroton or coco coir. Check out the Hydroponics forum on this site, it is full of all the information you could ask for. I feel like most of the CFL growers here use soil so you may not get the best hydro advice posting in this section. Good luck with the grow though man! its probably nice to be doing it legally. haha

at this point im gonna discontinue the bubbleponics system. I may have got ahead of myself trying hydroponics on my first grow im gonna stick with dirt on this one and do hydro ponics next time. i will post up pics later tonight

update on my grow area lol. larger bulbs have been ordered and are in route.

hmm.. if i just cut a hole in the side of the bag and put a small stand alone fan in the whole do you think that should be fine? with just these cfl's i dont have too much heat but i think your right about the fan when the bigger bulb comes to start flowering.

update!!! i got a small battery operated fan and added some more 2700k bulbs. The transplants went smooth as fuck.
