First grow resulted in males, hoping for girls this time :)

Feb 1st, geminated 5 assorted outdoor seeds, 2 in starter plugs for the hempy's, but one died :( .....and 3 in Dutch potting soil in coffee cups.

I'll use a combo of up to sixteen 23watt 6500k/5000k/2700k CFL's, and will be utilizing the sunshine when available

nutes will be General Hydroponics MaxiGro..... then MaxiBloom for flower stage

I haven't played with cfl's. After checking out your pix it looks like you may have the bulbs to close to the babies. Wouldn't want them to get roasted from the heat that those bulbs can put off, just a thought. Peace!!

I have them about 2 to 3 inches away.....which I though was okay considering 23w 6500k CFL's don't output much heat

I'll keep an eye open for heat stress...thanks

yeah you should be fine get a fan to blow the heat off if you can.
this is a bagseed that popped out 10 or 11 days ago and have been home to keep messing with lights and keep it approx an inch or so away and it loves it.

I wouldn't use the sun, unless ur gona grow outside. They will have to "reach" for the light instead of having it right there. I "played" with growing a plant or two in the windows w/the sun and the buds looked like cotton, they were patchy from stretchin and hit & miss on the stalks. I took Bakatare666's advice on placement of lights and I've never seen this shit close up. I'm a n00b if you can't tell by my enthusiasm...lol...Here I love showin "my babies" off anyway...17 days now..my set-up

I know I'm making n00b mistakes but man this is almost better than smokin it..lol

Riknstein...your plants are looking very healthy, excellent.

Last summer I did an indoor sunshine grow, so i plan on doing the same, but supplement with CFL on cloudy days

I'd like to know how it turns out...

LOL...last year was my first grow ever, used plain potting soil, tap water, no nutes and pulled off 18 grams of nice bud. (pic attached)

I found RIU last fall when searching on trichromes....so I started a CFL for the fun of it, and maybe get some decent smoke

That looks sweet, that's what I was wanting..lol..but live and learn...I got 6 babies all together (out of 9) but 2 are lookin' sickly, but I'm still hopin' for the best. I'm sure to get some ladies I can make mothers out of (I hope)
And what do you mean "outdoor seeds" like schwag or just hearty? Mine are Blue Rhino.
Oh and by the way I updated my last post to thank you for the compliment.

yeah, just more hearty I believe. I bought both outdoor & indoor assorted...she said the outdoor works for either in or outside.... but the indoors does not always work well outdoors

thanks zubey...wasn't sure if 23w CFL's could damage a young seedling, so I was keeping them about 2 to 3 inches away, I'll start getting them closer now, more like 1 or 2 inches.

Ya the 6500k are "soft light" and isn't warm unless you hold it in your hand for awhile. Now the 2700k which is a "warm light" is hotter (for a reason that I do not know) and will burn ur babies if closer than 3-4 inches, but I'm only gona use them for flowering, but 1-2 inches is recommended for the 6500k...this is my first (serious) grow, so I'm reading ALOT about this...lol

Dude i had the 2700s 2 inches away at all times in all my grows.. you need to in order to get big thick buds... .had some fan leaf burn but thats it. Just have a fan blowing on the lights and plant

6500k are bright light not soft
