I figured I would put my first grow in one post from beginning to end. I will keep the text as short as possible and show lots of pics instead 
It was my first attempt at growing. I chose to utilize a PC case and CFLs for my virgin grow. I also made the choice to use coco coir as the medium, and hand watered my girl, who I named Madeline. I used RO'd water from the local grocery store and eventually fed her with House-Garden's Cocos A/B nutrients. I ordered some seeds from the 'Tude and picked Nirvana's feminized Blue Mystic for my initial grow since it's supposed to have a more neutral smell while growing, and I always wanted to have something blueberry again. (Hadn't had any since Amsterdam)
I didn't read pH correctly using the strips for her initial feedings and had a few minor scares early on, but got that straightened out with the purchase of a digital pH pen. I vegged her for about a month since I was working with a small space. I also LST'd the main stalk to grow horizontally and created several new main colas in the process. I ran her under 12/12 lights for 9 weeks until I chopped the 4-5 large colas. I let the popcorn under that go for another 2-3 weeks before I did the final cut.
I didn't get any of the infamous blues, so I guess I didn't have that sought after phenotype.
Overall I was very impressed with my first grow. I ended up with a total of 63g dried from this converted PC grow box! I only expected to get 14g at most when I was starting out! Now I'm hooked. Never again will I buy a bag of weed, I will be growing my own from now on!
I'm already prepping my next grow, and am going to build a larger flowering cabinet. I'm going to stick with coco, growing 1 plant, and CFLs! I'm gonna get some whoppers this time! I'll start a journal for that when it gets going here soon.
