So I just got a nifty new microscope and i'm checking out the creepy crawlies. These things are friggin tiny.

What do you guys think?

they are in the roots. I find them floating in my ebb buckets.

Looks like an aphid.

Wonder what you would find in my womans jungle with that microscope.

Prolly the same things on my penis.

Looks like a root aphid to me. Are you still in veg or close to flower? I just fought them off temporarily at week 4 of flower and am hoping I can make it to harvest without major root damage/stress. I used a pyrethrin root dunk, I haven't seen a gnat/mite/aphid since but will be doing a bomb/bleach after I harvest.

Death to Aphids!

9 months I been battling these bastards. Used everything on em. nothing seems to work long term.

pyrethrin,orthene,abamectin, sns 203-209, azaguard, imidacloprid.

you fucking name it. I just treated my moms with a super heavy dose of sns 203&209,gognats,azaguard,riptide not two weeks ago and the fawkers are already floating in the buckets again....damn.

been a while since i've used the hard stuff on em.....ie, orthene, abamectin or imidacloprid so probably gonna go nuclear on em again.

fuckin sux

so now that i've a half decent way of studying these things i'ma try and do a controlled test of the different poisons on em.

gonna capture a few buggers and split them up between a half dozen 5 ml containers and put a few drops of different poison in the different containers and see just how effective each poison really is.

one thing i can say is that they don't drown apparently. I've had the same bug submersed in water in my viewing lens for over 16 hrs now and he's still swimming.......fucker :(

I have no experience with ebb and flow, I grow in soil. It has only been about 2 weeks since the pyrethrin root dunk though and I know how persistent they can be.
I am subbed, I have a bad feeling I have not seen the end of them by a long shot.

There was a guy on here a while back who was talking all doom and gloom when it comes to ra's. He was saying to shut down completely and buy all new stuff and start somewhere else. he also claimed to be running a 100k mmj facility. I really didn't take him too seriously because he had literally become a member the day before. I believe what he was saying now.....

He claimed met52 to be the most effective means of control for soil, you might want to get some for your next run.

So I put about a half dozen acephate sprinkles in the viewing lens with my swimming little friend about two hours ago. He is currently not moving.

Still not the best test tho as he has been in the water for 16 hrs or so.

that's what sucks about perpetual, no good time to take it all down, go nuclear, and start from scratch again.

best of luck to you.

thank you buck. It appears I may need some luck. I am however, not leaving it to luck. I just checked out my battery operated sprayers.. all good. getting ready to go nuclear with the acephate in veg. I just hate using anything stronger than pyrethrin, but....I gots to do what I gots to do.
I'm just happy to know for sure that these bastards haven't developed any acephate resistance.
i go perpetual and can not for the life of me get rid of white flies :eyesmoke:

EDIT: look at your skin with your loupe

whiteflies are one pest I have never seen thankfully.

lol about the checking of the skin. i've been looking at all kinds of stuff. skin, clothing, dollar bill. and buds ;) .....that's another thing, it appears i've been harvesting a bit early by the trich color. now I know

thanks for stopping in both of you

new bug with a couple drops of sns203
after 4 hrs in the 203 he's still moving, albeit slowly and in an uncoordinated fashion.

so i'll say that the 203 may be good when used as a repellent, and may kill them given enough time, but in an active grow I cannot see that it will kill them as you cannot drench for four hours and expect the roots to thrive at all.

also based on the fact that I've used it frequently as a drench and the little bastards would be back in force within a week...It is not very effective for eradication.

as a preventative/repellent...maybe. eradicator....no

and @ 100 buks a gallon it's pretty salty for a MIGHT work scenario.

edit: after fourteen hours in the 203 he is still moving, and moving @ a greater rate of speed than previously..

damn shame too cuz I just bought a whole nother gallon of the 203 :(

Thanks for the met52 rec, I will look into getting some for after harvest to use on vegging plants. I am really hoping I can avoid throwing out my clones and big healthy ladies ready for the flower tent. Starting from scratch will be painful. I am still not seeing any bugs at all after pyrethrin, I used a cheaper version of Evergreen called Bonide 857, also put some homemade rosemary oil, and a dose of soap.

Maybe try some samples with a bit of soap added as a wetting agent to get it to stick to their bodies more, just a thought. Curious what happens with the pyrethrin.

Sorry to hear about the 203 that is a lot of coin to drop on an ineffective product. At least you can use it for thrips, gnats, and white flies if you get them.
