this blog is exactly why most people wont do organics. You have it so over complicated that its ridiculous.

Im sure you get great results but lets no be insane about it. Its called weed for a reason.......it will grow under the best and worst conditions

Could you line out the ratios of your soil mix. I thought dog poo was too high in N to use in soil. Doesnt it need composting? Does your soil need composting and for how long do you recommend? Im trying to go organic and your mix looks good. Thx

the dog crap just happens to be here...I wish we had a cow! but there's no rain most of the year, and no grass to eat. anyway, read about biodynamics...the beauty thing is- you can process most biological matter into usable compost;but yes- it is good to watch how much of certain things(pine needles for example) go into the pile...main bases-weeds/straw(greener the better),cow manure(organic preferred), wood ash/charcoal( if not, some type of potassium), source of phosphorous(seabird guano, fish bone meal, etc.), and any other organic goodies like bat guano, blood meal,or montmorolonite clay. nature will take care of the breaking down into safe hummus...you just have to turn the pile and keep it watered...the worm castings are a matter of course. -see; people out there are gonna' run with the idea and make even better compost than mine...your only limits are-space to do it, budget(for really crazy piles), and imagination...mr. worf! maximum warp!! engage!
