I take the strongest male plant and burn him as an effigy to the pagan gods of marijuana cultivation. I do this by placing the plant in a combustable boat made specifically for this purpose which has been treated with a 50/50 combination of gasoline and vasoline, which is rubbed onto a banana leaf by hand and allowed to soak for the two days leading up to April 20th. The boat is released at the stroke of midnight on the 20th (so be ready at 11:59 on the 20th, not the 19th, some people get confused about this because of New Years Eve). At 11:59 on the 19th, however, prepare the first joint. At 12:00 midnight, signalling the start of April 20th, light this joint. Every hour, on the hour, you must smoke another joint. At 4:20 A.M. - BONG RIPS FOR ONE WHOLE HOUR (Do not overlook this step... if you need to, borrow a bong from a friend or neighbor). It helps to have some frozen Go-Gurt for the hour of bong rips. Don't forget that the next joint will need to be smoked only 40 minutes after the start of the bong rips, and the bong rips will need to be continued 20 minutes afterwards, so at this point the bong and joint should go in opposite directions around the circle. The direction of the circle should also be switched according to whether the hour is an odd number or an even number. Odd numbered hours mean that the joint should be passed to the left, even numbered hours are passed to the right. Bong rips, obviously, is the other way around. Continue until noon, when the ceremonial personal blunt is smoked. Since everyone has their own blunt, the passing rule only applies to the joint, which is passed to the right as any other even number. It is also traditional to name your blunt, as well as your sandwich (make sure you have a sandwich, Reubens are my personal favorite). Continue until the burning of the effigy and MORE BONG RIPS. That's pretty much it, hope you have a good one...

Shopping List:

Bong (Required), Rolling Papers (Required), Blunt Wraps (Required), Sandwich (Required), Frozen Go-Gurt (Recommended), and marijuana (Required), Doritos (Optional), Coffee (Optional), Gasoline (Required), Vasoline (Required), Banana Leaf (Required), ATHF DVDs (Pretty Essential)
