Default Question About CA Raids
I was reading something about all the raids and led me to believe that on some the local police and the feds are bumping heads. Is there anything to this?

I think local law enforcement isn't suppose to help the feds in certain places. I don't quite get your question though.

Are the locals resisting when the feds come in. Do they try to interfere to stop the raid?

Does that mean the local police for example, would protect their citizens from the feds and inhibit the raid?

you should check out a movie called super high me. its made by a comedian named doug benson. basically its about him smoking weed for 30 days all day every day but it also goes in depth about the situation in california. it explains how dispensaries work and all that good stuff. it also covers the raids and shows footage of a raid in action. from what it showed it seemed like the local pd didnt try to stop the feds but were there to make sure things didnt get out of hand. they really cant do anything to stop the feds but it seemed like they wanted to.

Most local LEO's are there for crowd control, traffic enforcement and area containment, IF they are even involved at all. From what I have read and understand (only limited so I could be off) the fed's are not even notifying locals in some cases until last minute. Technically, LEO's are to enforce state laws and because of that, most Northern CA city/counties along with LA county in So CA don't co-operate with Fed in a traditional sense. But most of Orange, San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties have been much more opposed to MMJ and have been more willing to participate with Fed's in local raids and were even part of a law suit that was challenging 215 (unsuccessful so far but is in appeals, most counties have backed out but SD is leading the charge to appeal).

Most counties have either put moratoriums or placed bans on permits for new clubs, this is a city or counties way to stop MMJ in there community without violating state law, they just ban them through zoning laws and regulations. Similar to how some southern states have 'dry counties or cities'.

But some counties (mostly northern and LA) LEO have refused to co-operate with feds in the past and a while back even went so far as to give owners heads up as to raids.

Ok. I think I understand now. I was just thinking it would be cool if the local police were blocking the feds and even standing in their way to prevent the "legal" operations from being raided. I can see it now, the feds arresting the locals for obstruction of justice. I would actually like to see that happen.
