Hey guys, I am/was a chronic pot smoker. (3-4 grams daily minimum throughout the week, the weekend well, the sky was the limit).

Now I have been ONLY vaporizing and I am starting to cough up a LOT of black and gray stuff in my phlegm. This also happened to me when I quit smoking cigarettes as my lungs tried to clean themselves out.

I have been using a Vapor Daddy and I only smoke between 0.5 to 1g and that is including a friend. So my intake has been cut severely. I also smoke less cigarettes due to the vapor.

MY QUESTION:

Is do you agree with my synopsis OR is there something I am missing? Is it possible that the vaporizer is putting black stuff in my lungs (even though it claims not to burn the plant matter). I would like your guys' opinion!

Well I know with like asthmatic vaporizers.. you know those machines that vape water into the air? That helps clear your sinus's up, might even make you through up. So Maybe this is doing you some good, if you are COUGHING UP that black stuff its a hell of a lot better than it being in there and you not seeing it right? Sounds like this Vape might be helping you out. Clearly the bad things are escaping your lungs.

I cough WAAAAAAYYYYY more using the vape than my bong. But it isn't the same kind of cough if you know what I mean?

yeah my frirend has a hotbox and i dont thinks its near as bad, i mean the vape makes you cough from the heat of the vapor, a bong makes you cough from the smoek it self you know. so im pretty sure the vape is doin you some good.

I find with a vape when you take huge hits there is no way your not gonna cough. I try to take smaller pulls now and hold it for 10 seconds. I get so fecking ripped off less haze it is insane. It also doesn't smell ANYTHING like when you burn it. I don't think people would know what the smell was unless you tell them or they are familiar with vape smell.

Yeah! My new roommate was in the living room with me one day when I was vaping. He thought it was some kind of asthma medicine! Then I let him try it...

Needless to say, he was quite impressed afterwords!

You are coughing up built up tar that your lungs are trying to get rid of. A vaporizer doesn't burn the plant. It heats the trichomes to just above the activating temperature and the smoke/mist from that is what you inhale. If you just stopped smoking cigs and only used your vap for a while, you're still going to cough up black/grey stuff but it will eventually clear out. I'd say stop smoking cigs for a while and only use your vap or a bong for like 2 months. It'll pretty much be gone and you'll be able to breath again! haha
