| | Help me decide? | | Hey Ope-
I spent the weekend looking into Montana's Medical Pot grower registration. It appears easy enough to get one. I'm almost 57 and retired. I've been growing for about 40 years and pretty much have it down (I'd better, eh?!!)
Besides the obvious baring of my lifetime "secret" the State's limit is 6 plants and one "dry, ready to smoke/use" ounce at any one time. This seems contradictory to any attempts at creating "specialty" blends, like morning use, night use, etc. as it seems they expect the grower to harvest in pieces.
Anyway, that's something we'll have to see about . . . my dilemma is whether I should bother with it at all. I basically stash grow . . . might share a little w/family, but that's it. In the process of putting maybe 6 oz's away* this month (cured/stashed*).
I'm in a position where I don't HAVE to do anything at all . . .I mean, like nothing. It's not that I'm/we're financially sound . . . I/we just don't care about such things.
It costs $50 a year for registration. I'm sure it'd be rewarding to help someone besides myself, my wife, my kid and the damn dogs.
Perhaps someone who's already a legal grower can take a look at this link and give me some insiders advice as to whether this is an excellent idea, or a stupid one. Frequently Asked Questions

| | that sounds like a no brainer you already grow so why not get to do it legally you could sign up for 6 plants and have your wife be a "caregiver" probably and have 6 more and juyst grow them mad big

| | Not sure it works like that? I see you did note that the 6 plant limit IS most of the iffy thing about this. I mean, it's been a while since I've bothered with that few. Thanks for replying.

| | yeah thats the only downside i see to it as 6 plants isnt gonna keep you in head stash unless maybe they were huge outdoor bushes

| | I suspect someone will eventually come along w/some other advice? I wrote some affiliated place yesterday re: needing growers, but haven't heard squat yet. My wife thinks I've lost my mind for even considering exposing myself. I wonder if it's 6 plants per dependent? I'm leaning towards going for it . . . I mean, it'd provide a little extra income around here and I would be helping someone cope.

| | im sure its prbably 6 plants per person thats how most med states are that let you grow it so if your wife has any medical conditions you could get 6 more plants that way i dunno man i mean to me if you could do it legal i dont see why not but like we both aknowledged cutting down to 6 plants might suck but still mman then no worries about getting popped or at least less worries unless the feds wanna come around and harrass you

| | Yeah, the fed's . . . I'd be banking on them being otherwise occupied. My wife was just recently diagnosed with painful fibromyalgia . . . but she works in a hospital and I suspect would be leery of even applying for a MM card. Maybe not? It seems they take pains to keep this info relatively private.
I'm trying to explain to her that re:this, the state, at least, isn't trying to trick me into exposing some secret so they can take the house she's worked so long for.

| | yeah i dont think they are doing that either form what i hear montana is pretty decent about civil rights i could be wrong that s just what ive heard like people move tghier to escape the govt but ive never been thier thats just what ive heard about it but i mean your sure to lose your house if they catch you now and if you downsized or just grew massive plants outdoor they wouldnt be able to of course if you already grow indoor or hydro or something you probably wouldnt wanna switch to outdoor

| | Plus we only have 100 frost free days, on average. I'd stick to indoor, but upgrade my gear substantially.
