OK. I Found A Sight And It Said, And I Quote,

"The following data supports the theory that the THC in marijuana (if not extracted) cannot cause lethal overdose."

I think its something like smoking 15 pounds in under 15 minutes or something ridiculous to overdose.

if you are talking about OD in the sense of death or near death, ya it is an amount that would be ALMOST impossible to achieve. I said ALMOST, cause like said above it's like smoking a few pounds in a very short period of time. But if by OD u mean get sick to your stomach and an over all feeling like shit then that makes sense why the warning, it would be like eating too many brownies

Yeah, thats about the same thing that I heard...smoking 15 pounds in a month is nearly impossible, let alone 15 mins or whatever. But thats just for weed, Marinol is like pure THC so it could be a lot less to overdose. If I was you I wouldnt do it, after u take one of those pills wait at least like 3 hours before you smoke, thats what I would do anyways.

marijuana = 10-25% THC
Marinol = 100% THC


So if it takes as you say 15 lbs in 15 min then you would need about 1.5 to 3.75 lbs of marinol for a near lethal dose, you will get pretty sick long before you get to a lethal dose and if you continue to smoke/consume then I would say your probably TRYING to OD and will probably pass out before that happens.


They say that since marinol is 100% THC (no CBD's or CBT's to interact with the THC) it is not as pleasant of a high to begin with and very unstable as far as dosing (they say it is hard to have a stable dose or affect, also it is thought that the CBD and CBT's help deliver the THC in a more pleasant manner) so it could be a hit or miss as far as how strong each pill is. Sometimes it will be fine and other times you could get too couch-lock, this is a major complaint from patients that use Marinol.

Unlike smoking/vaporizing consuming is harder to tell if it is a good amount or not right away, since it has to go through your digestive track to get to the blood stream, so instead of 3-10 minutes to decide if your dose is adequate or not you have to wait for 30-60 minutes to determine if the dose was enough or not. This tends to lead people to believe that since they are not 'high' right away, like they are when they smoke/vaporize, people tend to eat more before then they feel the full affects leading to an OD giving an unpleasant experiance.

If you have a high tolerance it would probably not be as big a deal if you take a pill and smoke a little to 'start your buzz'. I have a buddie that likes to eat an edible then smoke a little, he likes to do that because he gets the instant high from smoking and as it is starting to come down the edible is starting to kick in so he basically gets a longer high out it. But, I would probably take take a pill first see what your 'high' is like, then if you find it similar to a high you usually get to when you smoke/vaporize then you will know if it is a good idea to smoke anything next time you take one, just remember to wait about 45-60 minutes before you make a choice.

You are not going to die from taking one marinol pill and smoking a little bud. If it makes you feel better grab a scale and weigh the pill(s) you are planning on taking, multiply by 4-10, this should give you an approx. equivalent amount of bud so you have a general idea, like I said, it is just a estimate. If you have eaten pot before this will give you a better idea of what to expect from the high and if YOU should smoke/vap or not.

Do a google on some of this stuff, go to the NORML or ASA sites this is were I got most of this info over the last few years, it helped me decide that pot was a LOT less harmful than many other alternatives.
