So it looks like my girlfriend will be getting house arrest for her selling of 2 pot brownies to an undercover cop. I don't think this should be too bad. I was worried they were going to make her do it in CA but it sounds like she can still be here with me and go to school.

What I was wondering, what are the exact implications of house arrest? I know you have an anklet that keeps track of you to make sure you haven't left your house when you're not supposed to. But what else? Does the anklet also like do a blood test thing to make sure you're not drinking or doing drugs? Can you throw parties at your house as long as you dont leave?

Anything anyone knows would help. I just want to know what I'm going to have to endure with her since I pretty much got her in this situation.

Having parties during a time she needs to get out of the lime light of the law is not a good idea. Anything can happen. Lay low until she is clear. Just a thought.

I don't know what state you're in but in Ca. she would be on probation and not allowed to consume drugs or alchohol, or associate with people who do (along with a shitload of other conditions). That means YOU. That's right, no partying. Expect unannounced visits from her probation officer, urine tests, and household searches. It's no fun, maybe you need a new girlfriend.
The anklet does nothing but keep track of her whereabouts.

No offense, but it sounds like she is the one that needs a new boy friend. He gets her into her predicament and then wanting to party with her. Its obvious where his priorities and concern is laying.

An ankle bracelet that takes blood samples? lol.. that would be barbaric.. Somehow I doubt that she got "house arrest" for a misdemeanor marijuana distribution charge. A suspended sentence maybe?

But if that is the case I wouldn't throw any parties, for the sake of your guests who might get arrested because police have a vested interest in your domicile. But if she's of legal age to drink there's nothing they can do about that. Take care to clean your living space top to bottom, no drugs, no paraphernalia anywhere (not even your sock drawer), her PO will come by to check on her at odd hours unannounced, they're nosy as fuck. She'll probably have to take regular drug tests as well.

And no, I'm not getting a new girlfriend and no she doesn't need a new boyfriend. The reason she got the heat was because she did the selling of. Either way, I'm going to be there for her during this situation.

And it's not a misdemeanor. It hasn't all been ironed out with her lawyer and the DA (that is getting taken care of next week). But he said worst case, she gets the felony and is given house arrest. The DA is being very, very strict and is not really negotiating much so we are basically expecting house arrest for 2-6 months.

What house arrest means is that you basically have one foot in prison and one foot in freedom. You fuck up in any way shape or form and, you'll have both feet in prison.

i've had friends go out n do shit all the time on anklets..nothings happened to them.. but whatever..and that's in sacramento(cali)...and to u people telling them to find different bfs/gfs chill tha fuck out..grown individuals choose what they want to do..but 2 pot brownies? wtf. just argue it in court saying you gave it away
