Alright - so once I got over that giggly stage when I was a kid and I could actually sit down and focus while stoned and/or tripping, I realized that reading is THE best thing (for me) to do while under the influence. This is a list of books that have literally changed my life that I have read from cover to cover while stoned/tripping, and again while sober.

On the Road - Jack Kerouac
This is THE best novel I have ever encountered. Kerouac is such a cluster fuck and such a genius at the same time. I read this when I was 16 and it influenced my direction in life an unbelievable amount.

Naked Lunch - Burroughs
This book IS a trip on paper.

The Hobbit - Tolkien

The Universe in a Single Atom - the Dalai Lama
Put in words things that I have felt about life, consciousness, and the universe but could never express well myself. Focuses on the important symbiotic relationship between science and spirituality.

DMT: The Spirit Molecule - Rick Strassman
I am sure some of you have read this. It isn't any kind of deep, intellectual literary work by any means, but it opened my eyes to DMT - which I can safely say has had a significant role in my life spiritually.
