I find it pretty disgusting that the south American cultures embrace Catholicism the way they do, especially when i hear about what was done to them in the name of the christian god, i think you have to be a pretty broken person to embrace a god that was forced upon you and your people, but that seems to be the thing that most people don't understand, all religion was brought to people and imposed on people by conquerors, it was then used as the frame work to control there minds, and whether it was imposed on you at a swords edge or instilled in you by your parents it is not natural to you...

Id like to see you stand in their shoes and actually still say that to the conquistadors who killed off a majority of your population due to old world sickness and dont have a problem turning that killing from biological to physical once again. You seem to pass judgement on characters of history more then you try to understand why.

I can not count how many times i have read your post and i still can not comprehend exactly what it is that you are trying to convey to me, if i was to stand in the shoes of the natives who were almost obliterated in their time i would be more than happy to speak my mind to them as i don't believe what i had to say would hold much weight for them, so i would be more than happy to call them horse fuckers while they executed my friends and family, and as I've already said my issues are not so much with what columbus did its with the fact that i was taught all about this cock sucker in the 3rd grade, i was told none of this and we still celebrate him with a national holiday... As far as understanding these people of history goes i understand why just fine, they were conquerors i didn't expect them to conquer an entire continent with no blood shed, and as far as Kellogg goes he was just a sick fuck who wanted to stop children from touching them selves in order to save them from an eternity of hellfire and brimstone, on a side note it was all in vein because there have been sonograms done showing pictures of baby's touching them selves in the womb...

It means a majority of your fighting force (if you were native south or north american) would be wiped out by the germs the new world people brought over taking out any real force to combat the new people. I doubt in the face of a sword you would stand up against forced Catholicism. You called people who converted hundreds of years ago disgusting cause they converted but I doubt you would really do anything other then what they did if you were really put in that situation. You can say right now how much you'd speak your mind but your never going to be put in that situation. I have a feeling though if you were really to put yourself in their shoes you would not stand up for yourself and get killed. You cant say people are disgusting then say you understand why they did it when it comes to converting religion under force.

The reason i said i would be more than happy to speak my mind while my family and friends were being executed was because it wouldn't matter what i had to say ether way, they were not just killing those who refused to be converted they were killing every one,,, and no i was not calling people who converted hundreds of years ago disgusting, this was an incorrect interpretation, i was talking about the south American people in current times who still cling to the religion despite the brutality with which it was forced upon them. I can understand if given the option to save my ass i might be more than happy to join the christian faith but i doubt in my life time i will ever get the chance to find out. Sorry for the miscommunication man but if you look at the context in which my first post was written you can see that i was not talking about the people who were conquered, but the people who still cling to the faith 100s of years later despite the fact that prior to the arrival of columbus and his cronies they had an entirely different culture.

The people of South America in current times have only been free of European colonization anywhere from the 1800s to even the early 1900s (depending on area) as well as multiple U.S. interventions before and after the turn of 20th century. So your disgusted because people cling to religious traditions that have been in their culture and families for hundreds of years? (Since the 1400s)

They weren't killing everyone they still needed areas to thrive because the Europeans needed long term resources and labor. South America was also seeing African slaves who were brought over and before you know it you have a giant mixing pot of Europeans, Africans and South American's often having children between the groups of people. By the time they were free to actually go back to the religious practices of the 1400s it was so mumbled jumbled you couldnt go back.

I saw movies about Columbus and other explorers being such evil mother fuckers.
Can't say it's true because I wasnt there to witness it.
You liberals are always trying disprove goodness in one form or another.
Always have a pissy complaint about everything.
So you do believe in the bible?
For the most part I do.
It's recorded history is it not?
Older history than Columbus.
I don't care if you think your DVD is a part of history.
It's just a authors opinion.
Anyone can make a movie, say Refer Madness.
Doesn't mean it's factious.

This is just awesome.
