If you live in a house....fences and LOCKED iron gates are another good way to make sure they never get to your front door in the first place. The farther back from your doors and windows you keep them... the better off you are.

police in my neighborhood did this when we had a party last year but the front door of my house was locked. i noticed the cop standing on my front stairs so i slipped out the back and came up on him from the back and talked outside. he asked lets go inside and talk about the noise i said "no thanks but i have been warned you wont hear us again have a nice night officer" and then walked around to the back.

first there is no way anyone heard anything my house is about 300 feet from the road
and my #1 rule when i have parties is lock the front door using a deadbolt that can only be opened w/ a key this way one of your friends doesnt get shitfaced and unlock it on accident.
2nd thing i will never let a cop in my house for any reason unless a warrent is
