One of those fucking dollar stores just moved into the strip mall on the corner. Oh well, there goes the neighborhood. Might as well power down a trio of HUGE bong hits and go check out shit for the grow operation.

Don't bash those Dollar stores... they do have bunch of crap you would not normally buy. On the other hand, there are tons of people that do need them.
Business is business and this fucking country needs jobs no matter what it is.

OOOOOOOOOOOK. The dollar stores have sold out. How is it still gonna be called the dollar store when shit is 2 fer $3 and slippers are $6? Looks like they took a page from the Goodwill play book. Business is good, let's raise the prices and make more profit.

I'm often pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality available sometimes. It just depends what kind of surplus they could get off a supplier. My local often sells luxury rands you'd find 4 times the price anywhere else. It's also great for costume and props stuff (I work for a film studio) or specific events. Eg. I'm going to the beach... shit, I don't have a bucket/spade/towel/sunglasses/cooler... go to the .99 store by default. They seems tos sell everything from munchies to camping equipment, pet care supplies and stationary for us students. You get some really quirky or eccentric items sometimes. It's also my go-to place for cheap electrical equipment or temporary replacements. Oddly, I've bought connector cables, earphones and peripherals that lasted longer than a more expensive one from a specialty store. Just great for bits and pieces, craft projects etc. Testing and venturing into thing s you'd usually be scared of trying out in case the financial investment wasn't worth it.

Yeah, they're great, and it goes withut saying, there are many who couldn't******* afford to shop elsewhere that are well-served by these places.
Yeah, some hike up the prices but most I've seen are still $1/£/Euro or two for one, even!
Actually, the best mascara I ever got I bought there over a year ago and it's still outperformed the one expensive MaxFactor one I had.
