The Adults with Adult children thread...

So figured I would create a lil post about those of us who are now adults with adult kids.. and those of us with kids at home..
I have 4 kids
Male Stepson since age 6) now age 24 (just married has a baby on the way)
Male Stepson since age 4) now age 22 (kinda lost in his direction currently... )
Daughter Age 16 a Junior in H.S
Son age 11 entering 8th grade.

I am 42 married for 17 years been thru a lot.

One of the first things I noticed was how I became my mom and dad around my kids.. I was telling my kids crap they use to tell me.. I began to notice heck my folks really were buzz kills they were just worried as hell..

I thought about this thread the other day while reading a article about how bad the whooping cough is this year and the effected ages and was for a moment relaxed since I had no kids this age.. till I realized I have a grandkid on the way.. and now will loose sleep over this..

We have planted seeds over the years about how people take medicines and where medicines come from natural herbs and pills etc. lol but nothing outright yet. We have this cool book for when the time come called "It's just a plant". My hopes are to teach her about it before they do it in school and taint her perception of marijuana. This is something I tend to stress over as a parent.

You don't want your daughter to be the only one in the class room raising her hand Defending the plant. Yes that sounds awesome! But those teachers are going to alert authorities then the fun starts.

I can kinda say that I have a 19yr old... she is actually my girlfriends daughter (we've been together for 6yrs) so she was 13 when I came into the picture and have watched her grow up to be a great young lady. She just started college and is doing awesome!!! we are all very proud of her. My gf also has a soon to be 16 year old daughter whom is also doing very well. I myself have a 13yr old daughter... damn so many girls in my life... she is also a great kid although she pushes the limits at times... I'm 38 and my gf is 45. It's been a lot of work but I think we have a great family. When I talk about my family I talk as if her kids are my own. Being a stepdad was not easy but it's gotten easier as I was able to gain there trust. The last 6 yrs have been incredible and I hope for many many more yrs with my family!!!! stay high

i dont know how i would feel about marrying someone with kids already. iv never even dated someone with kids, i would, but it just seems a little bit weird. isnt it?
