Having kids?

Another question, we all smoke and probably most of us here grow weed. So do you still smoke and grow weed where your children live? Or does that stop when you have children?

If you still grow and smoke, do you hide it or do you show them and tell them about it?

I don't hide it, but I don't smoke around them either. I think to hide it is to show shame in what your doing and make it seem like it's really bad. People that drink beer don't hide the fact that they drink beer from their kids or smoke cigs. My kids have never asked me about it, but when they do I'll tell them the facts.

have 3 kids and I'm stoked on all of them. I don't hide my smoking either. there is no reason too, it's not like I am doing anything wrong

the nice thing about not having kids is you can go, do, see, eat, spend, buy, have., and shit not getting broke.. oh and the most important part.. kids can cost you your freedom. but life with out kids would be like life with out dogs and cats...BORING

Seeing that the 'no child' side of this discussion is a bit thin, I thought I would say a few things.

First I love kids, and love being an uncle, but never wanted to have my own. Hats off to all the parent posters, becuase it takes a significant amount of dedication to be one. Don't take anything I write here as dis'ing parenthood, I just want to get out some of the good stuff about being a DINK (double income no kids).

I find that not having children has enriched my relationship with my wife in ways that would not have been possible with children. We are equal-footed partners, and share a great deal of time with each other as lovers rather than parents. I have more time to dedicate to art, and more money to spend on travel and friends. I can grow pot and smoke it whenever the heck I want. My spouse is in her mid-40s and is smokin' hot. We have great friends (other DINKs) and they have become an extension of our family.

I don't regret forgoing kids. I'll be honest, and say that my wife (back in her early 30s) fought me tooth and nail over the kids issue. Now she says, "I'm so glad we didn't have kids."

I love being an uncle and neighbor who can lend a hand to other parents in their child rearing. Being an adult without children gives me certain creds with kids; I'm not a 'parent' figure, I'm a grown up friend.

Very mixed blessing, Some of my best times revolve around the kids and also some of my worse.
However I would have best and worst times without kids. Its hard to imagine life before kids.
Mine are boys 16, 21 and 25
One finished high school and decided to go to work at advanced N (before I knew he really smoked)
He is a big sweet person It has been nothing but pleasure to be around him. Genuinely good person.
The other Is in running start and will spend his last years of high school attending college. (yep he came from my penis)
The other I love and can not get along with and its a fucking horrible situation.
Long story short he started with pills, graduated to herion and jails and is currently psychotic and off his meds.

The point is that I went way out of my way to treat them all very fairly. Wehn we went to the movies they
went. When others ditched their kids we took ours. If I disciplined them I ALWAYS let them know why and how I expected
it to help them in the future. I had drug problems but thank god I started getting my shit together so they only seen
that side of me but I did not hide my recovery and they know the problems I have endured due to drug abuse.
The deal is they will do what they choose and it feels sometimes that it diddnt matter how well I treated them
since they do what they want anyway but I really think things could be much worse if I had not.

Its like this you may have to go to this human that you love more than anything and explain he has
a wiping problem and at his age his buddies will start to notice. Its a hard thing, lol But if you dont than your a
coward and doing the child a disservice. Anyway I know that was a weird example but I`m glad you are thinking this over.
If your just gonna dump them on grandma and let them fuck up my yard while your shooting crank please dont have them.
Also dont use them as slave labor. Let them be kids and if you want coffee every 3 minutes go get it.
OOOps nevermind that I flashed back to my youth. My goal is to make my kids a little better than I was.
Then accept the fact that I have no real control beyond doing my job as a parent.

Big responsibility but I love the little fuckers!!!
