I am interested in moving to Cali. I am wondering where you guys would recommend to go, especially to get involved in the scene. I am currently contemplating San Diego, but I am not so sure. What's your opinion?

Best place to move in Cali is probably Arizona, or Colorado...There's no more milk in Cali, the cow's all dried up...

But seriously, I hope you have a good plan, and lots of money saved up/a job lined up...Because it's expensive as shit to live in one of the larger cities in Cali...Maybe cheaper in Sacramento, but SF, LA, and SD are alll real pricey...Secondly, it's not as easy as moving to cali and getting involved in "the scene"...Do you currently grow for profit where you are? There is a ton of competition in Cali, hope your bud is the shit, bro. It's not like any landlord here is gonna be cool with you growing either, not like you'll be telling them...But it can lead to an eviction notice if they do happen to find out. If you intend on buying a house, you'd really get more bang for your buck farther inland, like San Bernadino county.

Money Saved...Job...Housing.........Get all these things in order before trying to make the move, and unless you wanna pay way too much for way too little, don't move to a big city...

Ventura County, bro....Look into Ventura County

cali isnt the promised land, you'd be better off in another state, its hella expensive here, especially in the big cities. I live in the central valley and rent is still like 1200 bucks a month for a duplex, prob like 800 a month for an apartment, etc... groceries are expensive, the social programs here are only for the poor, the people are cool but alot of people do have this entitled attitude like 'someone owes me something"

haha thanks guys, much love to ya, I originally wanted to go towards Mt. Shasta but I reconsidered as I was told there wasn't a lot of dispensaries in the location to do business with. Now you had mentioned Colorado, that is something else worth considering. I would ideally love to network with someone in a prime location so I could have some friends upon arrival, but I can always do that afterwards.

Speak for yourself...I'm not cool at all...In fact, Cali has some horribly shallow bloodsuckers. If you move to cali, it is a known fact that homeless people will follow you around asking for change (Thanks Matt and Trey...Assholes), and you're gonna catch a social disease when someone brushes up against you in line at MacDonalds...Not to mention the smog is so thick, every time I walk my dog he asphixiates and dies, so it's a good thing our "walk" is usually to the animal shelter to get a new doggy. And there is raw sewage in the streets that flows directly into the churning cesspool they call an Ocean....

    You have been warned.

Anywhere in Northern California. I'm from San Diego originally and the scene in SD is not good. Too much of a Los Angeles attitude with all of the boasting and bullshit.

There are many kinds of scenes in Norcal:

You can have the gangster-grower scene in Oakland.

Then there is the toothless-tweeker scene in Lake County.

Humbolt has the redneck, mountain-man scene.

San Francisco has the buttoned up urban scene for $500+/oz.

Santa Cruz isn't in Norcal but it has a nice friendly hippie scene.

If you want a dirty, crowded scene then you could go with the scene in Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County in general, Bakersfield, Fresno, Sacramento, San Jose and about a dozen more cities around the state.

Mendocino County has a very good scene but it will take you awhile to join.

Sonoma County has a lovely scene. Residents can legally grow up to 30 plants and posses up to 3# each in their scene.

I used to live on a houseboat. In my home state, living on houseboats in the winter is impossible. Because of that, I lived in northern cali for a few winters. I don't want to put California down, but to me it was kind of depressing. It's crowded. It can be a bit trashy. It's very class segregated. And OMG the homeless people. When you can get the hell away from everything and everyone it can be peaceful. If you want to grow in CA, northern CA is the part to do that in.

Hey... I have a house for sale in butte county. interested?

Really? No one? I'm just gonna come out and say it then.........

Don't come to Cali...Try another state with a more recently emerging MMJ economy developing if you wanna get a foothold there. Coming to Cali now to try and grow for profit; That's like setting up a foldable table on the Vegas Strip to peddle 3 card monte.
