Ya it can be hit and miss on inland lakes. You just have to check it weekly cause you never know which body of water will be included. Any particular lake you are interested in?
Just call them Ahab and defoliation their White Whale....

We do pretty well around here. A couple years ago the smelts were so thick you couldn't even see the bottom of the river. Catching 4-8lb landlocked salmon all day long. Hopefully it will get like that again this year.

The Red Horse have peaked here and fishing for them has begun to slow. Catfish are really picking up though. The St Joe River, least the stretch through Calhoun County has been producing some nice catches. Their bellies are full of crawfish so get your traps out....
And you all are correct, Salmon fishing is the bee knees!!!!!!

And a bit off subject but the morrells and asparagus are both beginning to show...nothing like spending a day cruising to back roads in search of asparagus and a quick check under those old trees for morrells....

You guys have asparagus growing wild up there? Must be nice. We pay way over 3 bucks a pound for them. We do have fiddleheads but, I don't care for them. And yes salmon fishing rules! Love seeing them come up out of the water.

You mean those 10-12 foot high 15 foot wide arches when you snag them in the side? LOL
And yes wild asparagus. Not as much as it used to be, too many people mowing and maintaining the ditches...

Guess a lot of you will not be fishing this week in the Northeast. Looks like you all are about to get hammered.
