My favorite sung verses (from Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms, first movement):

It pains me to see people talk shit about other people being creative. Honestly, half the people on t.v. and in movies aren't talented. Fuck look at Lady Gaga. You can't single hip hop and rap out. It really isn't fair. Just because someone can sing or play an instrument doesn't make them any better then someone who can tell a story with a very good flow over a beat made by someone on a computer. Funny thing is a lot of hip hop and rap is incorporating real instrument into their music. You can't tell anyone that is doing something creative that it can't be defined as they define it. That's your perspective, just like this is mine.

I will concede that it's a matter of taste. However I like music to be lyrical, just as I like poetry to possess structure and meter. I find rap to be the antithesis of the lyrical, just as I find most free verse to be the undisciplined emotive flux of children of all ages. Jmo. cn

That's the funny thing...a lot of underground, non-commercialized, hip-hop and rap is intensely lyrical. Rhyming happens in many ways. I'll give you an example of some REAL music.
