I decided to embark on the magical journey of aquiring a 'water-pipe.' Because just purchasing one is out of the realm of my financial possibilities... i decided to try to make one, using an empty 1800 Tequila bottle. I purchased a carbide tip bit at the hardware store (wanted diamond, but they didnt have it) and I drilled through the bottle without an issue. I have a slide and a female for it, and the female includes a rubber grommet, made for a real bong. The problem I am having is that the grommet is meant to sit on the bong at a 90 degree angle, but the slide is put in at an angle now because it is going into the side of a bottle. My question is... whats the most effective way to permenantly seal and hold the female, that isnt completely ghetto. Id like to find a way to make these work to make as christmas presents for my friends. Is there some type of putty, or epoxy that will completely harden, as well as seal, while resisting minor amounts of heat? That part of the bong doesnt get too hot. I currently have the whole setup duct taped, and the bong just rips. I love it. Here are some pictures to try to explain whats going on...

Why buy one if i can figure out how to make this work reliably? My total investment in this is $18. Even if I spent $30 at the hardware store on shit getting it to work, id still be saving over $100.

And thats $100 that can go towards an Aerogarden.

hot glue gun will do the trick. if your making the slide fixed in place your gonna need a shotgun hole.

You think a hot glue gun will stick to the glass enough? Im not making the slide fixed in place- the female will be fixed, the slide is removable.

yeah the hot glue gun should work and if it doesnt youll know cause itll come off easy. i see what your saying about the slide my bad.
