it has water in each level. it's a dome with a tube up the middle with water at the bottom. the smoke goes up thru the tube thru the water and then out 4 holes at the bottom of the dome. it perculates like an old coffee pot. bubble, bubble, bubble,......then it has the typical water at the base like any normal bong. the smoke gets water filtered 3 times.
