| | Effects Of Bud On Your Long Term Health | | so was wondering, if there are any smokers in their 50s and up in here. I was wondering if smoking a lot of weed has had any bad effects on your health. I mean breathing and lungs. Is there a higher possiblity of lung cancer by smoking a lot. If I am smoking at least a bong rip a day, am I going to be an old man one day? I am getting tripped out my brother was telling me my lungs look just as fucked up as a cigarette smoker. I have been smoking since I was 17. I am now going to be 28, so are my lungs totally fucked up? |

| | if you are really worried about health etc, just vape it or start water curing your buds. heh. or pot food? Hash? There are many alternatives to just smoking. However a combination probably would be the best. |

| | Actually it doesn't have a negative effect on your lungs. In fact it has a positive effect.
A scientific study in which pot smokers, cigarette smokers, and some people who smoked both were followed for 20 years and they found that the people who have been smoking just pot had an overall greater lung capacity than the average person. The cigarette smokers all essentially had cancer. The people who smoked both had cancerous cells but they were benign. Pot actually severely stunts the growth of tumors which is why some cancer patients are treated with pot.
And the fact that you've been smoking out of a bong helps your case because a bong filters out a lot of the tar and leaves most of the THC. So you're fine.

Most smokers believe that bongs are healthier than other smoking methods; however, a 2000 OpenDNS- MAPS study found that "water pipes filter out more psychoactive THC than they do other tars, thereby requiring users to smoke more to reach their desired effect" [6]. Smoke from cannabis supplied by the NIDA was drawn through a number of smoking devices and analyzed. A smoking machine, adjusted to mimic the puff length of cannabis smokers, drew smoke through a standard bong, a small portable bong with a folding stem, a bong with a motorized paddle that thoroughly mixes the smoke with the water, and two different types of vaporizers. The study found that the unfiltered joint outperformed all devices except the vaporizers, with a ratio of about 1 part cannabinoids to 13 parts tar. |

"8. Lung Cleaner and Expectorant
Cannabis is the best natural expectorant to clear the human lungs of smog, dust and the phlegm associated with tobacco use.
Marijuana smoke effectively dilates the airways of the lungs, the bronchi, opening them to allow more oxygen into the lungs. It is also the best natural dilator of the tiny airways of the lungs, the bronchial tubes - make cannabis the best overall bronchial dilator for 80% of the population (the remaining 20% sometimes show minor negative reactions)[....]
The evidence indicates that cannabis use will probably increase these outlaw American marijuana-users' lives by about one to two years - yet they may lose their rights, property, children, state licenses, etc., just for using that safest of substances: cannabis."
Jack said that marijuana smokers live something like 20 years longer than people that smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol.
Seems pretty safe to me. |

That can't be right considering THC is an oil based compound. As long as you're using water in your bong it should filter out mostly tar considering tar is carbon based. and since oil and water don't mix the thc should filter through and be more prone to catching tar instead.
