how close are we to legalizing marijuana period or will it only be for medical users

Legalizing it for medical use is the first step. You can't expect to make a giant leap here. It is gonna talk baby steps.

But that matter of time could take 20 years. Most people still are ignorant and think of pot they way they were told to think. All kinds of predjudice and bias and EVERY INDUSTRY IN THE WORLD will fight it. Lawyers, judges, police, corrections, private prisons, plastics, paper, wood, fuel, big pharma, even growers and dealers and all those folks who make a good living on the illegaility of it many won't support and will fight legalization.

Everyone is scared shitless and obama can't go all the way in one step. It just won't happen. Look at who the vice pres is and what he has done to push the war against pot. (more about pot than other drugs)

I did.. I voted on .gov first mistakenly and then .org after I realized I did the wrong site, but Obama has made it VERY clear that his mind has been changed (seems to be changed for him not by him) that when he first said he would legalize that actually what he meant was decrim and now only will support decrim.
