Fan heaters... very small but also very powerful. I have a small 2.4 kw fan heater... running this tiny little heater is the same as running 2,400w of light.

I've noticed that there is a lot of paranoia in the noobie section of the growing community concerning this subject... about how the leccy companies can monitor your power surges at certain times of the day. They may be able to do this but they certainly can't tell which appliances it is you are switching on.

So long as you pay your bill and don't tell ANYBODY what you are doing you can grow as many fucking plants as you like with as much light as you can afford to pay the electric for.

Ya the Power Company is the last entity to worry about. Like any company they want the money. They arnt going to "report" you, but they have to turn over your usage if requested. The (DEA in America) Drug Enforcment Agency, and local Law Enforcement, with their fancy sensors and informants, is who you need to worry about.

That's what I'm talking about... they'd (law enforcement) would still need to prove what appliances the consumption was used for. If THEY are going to the leccy company for extra evidence they already have enough to put you away. Electric usage is very hard to prove.

This is the only way people get caught by the electric company: You don't pay your bill, the electric company send you numerous letters in an effort to resolve the problem... they get no response from you, they inform law enforcement. They actually pay law enforcement to go with one of their agents to legally break into your home... hence they find your little operation

Ameren Ip has begun installing remote readers on their residential connections. So they do have the ability to look at your usage at any time, but if your small not growing a house then there is absolutely nothing to worry about. The way their new remote system works is on cell phone technology. They have to call the reader to obtain a reading, but with new programing could be a constant connection.

WTF? I'M NOT DISPUTING THEIR ABILITY TO LOOK AT YOUR USAGE... I'm saying that they couldn't figure out what appliances the usage stems from. You can grow as many fucking plants as you like... okay?

i like your posts skunk,i have a fucking aircon going in my room 24/7,a six hundred and a four hundred going,four airpumps three large fans,an ionizer,and an aquarium chiller,it gets a bit hot over here,and that is not counting the constant air con in the house,lights the kids leave on etc ,etc,thank fuck the wife has fucked off,her hair dryer would have got me busted for sure.

Yeap that damn wife and her hair dryer that gets em busted every time.

you know if your worried about your flowering schedule 12/12 and the difference in power being used on that schedule.. you can simply divide your plants in half and flower them on opposing time periods. you will use the same amount of power ( actually a very small amount less). otherwise you will burn your lights 24 hours for veggative growth and the power consumption will be even. ther is no way for anyone to know what it is you are using as alternating current has no referance to what it supplies. it could be an air conditioner set too low that continually uses the compressor(like mine thanks to my wife) or anything else that is of continuous duty. so feel free to grow with no worries.. more likley things that will get you busted would be smell or #1 thing.. loose lips....
