SOOO here in SO~CAL we got a newspaper called 'west coast leaf' its in the clinics and wat not, and after my WHOLE life hearing that WEED is a gateway 'drug' i was skimming throo reading sum articles and recently in Colonge, Germany there was a confrence on cannabinoids in medicine, and they did a study of people who use MMJ fer pain (with illnessess) and then other who dont and use other DRUGS to releif pain. they found that MMJ vs. DRUGS there were no adverse changes in the lung and other funtions. ON THE OTHER HAND in CALI at the university of cali in SAN FRAN, they found that use of MMJ to the therapeutic regimen of chronic pain releif with OC users and MORPHINE users not only did it add signifigant pain releif to the pateint but scientist conclude "cannaboids may aument the analgesic effects of OPIOIDS, allowing longer treatment at lower doses with fewer side effects" in terms its sayin that MMJ is a sort of "REVERSE GATEWAY"...

...so next time u hear someone say "ITS A GATEWAY DRUG" Correct them ;-)

yeah west coast leaf isn't just so-cal. it's all the way up here at the top of california in siskiyou county.

the medical aspects of weed go even further than that. we barely know shit at this point. they're finding every day that the cannabinoid system is much more complex, and elegant than we ever thought.

Agree 100%. there's a movie available called The Union. Watch it. It has Harvard Professors and Ex-cops the whole gamut telling us what a crock of shit the whole gateway thing is and how beneficial it really is. It's real strange that the US is the only country in the world that doesn't produce commercial hemp. It's paper, fuel, clothes, food, medicine and everything else all in one but because anyone can grow it and they can't regulate it, the feds will NEVER legalize. We as smokers/med users can only hope that decriminalization will happen across the country as a whole soon.:wall:

people who say mj is a gateway drug are truly ignorant. i don't know any potheads who have tried to get me hooked on something else. Yes, if anything, it's the opposite. I'm not saying that if I didn't start smoking mj that I would be a drug addict or something like that, however it is likely i'd start smoking cigs or drinking too much alcohol as a way to cope with lifes stresses.

so yeah, if anything mj has helped me stay off other drugs. i rarely drink even, maybe once a month.

Sheeeit, everybody know herb amplifies the effects of other drugs. Anytime I drink, trip, or take pills I always smoke herb to kick it in harder. Then again I always smoke herb alone just to smoke herb too. lol

I've been telling people for years that herb will help you detox from other harder drugs like heroin because it amplifies the effect. So, someone with a habit could use a lot less and then smoke some herb and feel about the same as if they just did a higher quantity of the harder substance. So basically it can help you ween yourself off of harder drugs because of the complimentary effect of cannabis.

The whole concept of a gateway anything is stupid. Sure, it's hard to find hard drug users that haven't smoke cannabis before, but have you ever found one that didn't drink? If cannabis is a gateway drug, then it's a tiny shadow compared to the biggest gateway anything we have ever had, ALCOHOL.

True dat. Everyone forgets that alcohol use basically always precedes cannabis consumption. Oh but wait that's because alcohol isn't that bad because the govt can make a buck with it....
