Wondering about your "first time" smoking and what it was like. Personally I didn't feel a thing, unlike everyone around me. It didn't hit me till maybe the 3rd time I tried it.

Any ideas why this happens or anyone with a similar experience?

No one knows why. Scientifically speaking, there is no reason why people shouldn't get high their first time. My guess is that most people are like me and they coughed like a bitch their first time, not really holding any of the smoke in their lungs. I bet people would get high their first time if they smoked out of a good glass on glass bong

My first time smoking I was 13 and me and my good buddy from forever knew this kid who smoked and we met up with him one day and decided we too would smoke.. I got high as shit and have no clue how people don't get high, I really can't fathom smoking weed and not feeling anything its never happened to me haha, although I have alot of friends who claimed the same thing, some didn't get high until like their 4-5th tim smoking, its weird...

First time i smoked was in the 7th grade. Friend of mine bet me $5 that i wouldnt come back to his place after school and smoke. Took us a few hours to find some but we finally did and ended up smoking little over a quarter and i was torn. Then we walked around the neighborhood and i remember making fun of the mailman, after that i got bit by a damn chow.

I was 13 and got far too high for my own good. Little bastard I was, and then passed out for about 8 hours. by pass out i mean blacked out.
Didn't touch it for a year afterwords. Been smoking all the time ever since.

I knew the feeling was there, because I knew what
being drunk felt like.

Since I've started smoking almost daily, I have no desire to drink.
Maybe at a family function, but other than that, I don't even drink
on holidays anymore.

Weed is all I need.
