the PS3 has taken over....sorry xbox lovers

my theory on the 360's "red ring o death" is this:..hooking the machine up to the internet is what causes it to do that. it may even be that its some kind of scheme by microsoft to sell more product. all i know is that the fail rate for the 360 is something like 50%, but the one we've had has never had any probs, and i think its bc we havent hooked it up to the internet. i'd like to see some stats on that. on the fail rate of the 360's that have/havent ben hooked up to to the internet. don't know much bout the ps3, but plan on prolly gettin1 since the price went down and it has the blue ray and all.

its the solder connections overheating. poor craftsmenship. soldering isnt hard, n i dont kno where they have the consoles made, but fuck, how hard is it to have a clean, strong solder connection that wont fail?

i have my first 360, never failed or fucked up... n im hoping it wont. ever.

n yea, ill be buyin myself a ps3 for christmas since its cheaper.

You shouldn't be pissed off that the ps3 dropped in price, you should be pissed off at yourself for spending $600 when it came out.

And actually I have both ps3 and xbox 360 I'm impartial to be honest, I think that the 360 is better for just pure gaming but the ps3 to me is just a more overall useful piece of hardware. Last night I had a girl come over and I have all the True Blood seasons on my computer and I was able to stream them straight to my ps3 instead of burning them on DVD... I know the 360 can do this as well but I don't like the way it's set up and I am not a big fan of Windows Media Center, would much rather use media player.

I've had my Xbox for about six months and haven't had any problems so far. It stays on pretty much constantly, doesn't get hot at all though it does make a lot of noise when there's a disc in the tray (but so does my dvd player). It gets used for watching Netflix more than it gets used for playing games. Netflix+digital converter box = no cable bill, hooray!

Nope
ps3 has been out for almost 3 years already
nobody should be mad about for having to pay more for a machine they have been enjoying for 3 years before the first price drop
not only should u be happy but the original ps3 launched with Sony memory stick, and every form of stored media device is located directly on the machine
in which the second and third generations do nothave

i play the best games on the xbox 360 and use the ps3 for a few games but mostly bluray
gears of war and halo seems like its worth it alone
i couldnt live without them
