When I was smoking with a relative, he said he was putting keif in the bowl. What is it and how do you make it? I think he used a grinder, but I don't have one, nor can I afford one.

You know when you hold a really bomb bud, and it leaves the crystals (trichs) on your fingers? That's kief. It's pretty much the thc crystals on your bud. My grinder has a screen that catches the kief, but I usually just buy it.

This is what I dont get... Isnt a keif catcher or screen taking away from your bud?

I have a small grinder I got for 10 bucks (metal) that just grinds and keeps those crystals mixing around with my bud - With yours isnt it basically taking away some of the THC from the bud because it separates it?

I mean I get that you can use it later but its like pinching your high, right?

I mean it's not like that shit is going anywhere else

kief is what i pick from my belly button and inbetween my toes want some?

I generally put the kief that it separates out right back on the buds. I'd rather just buy kief than try to collect it up like that.

it's nice because it's like the LAST thing I smoke when I'm out... you smoke steems, seeds, resin, then lo and behold a deliciously overflowing fluffy bowl of crystals.... tis like magic mate!!! lol

Yeah, there have been a few times when I just don't bother with it let it collect up and then it's a pleasant surprise during a dry spell.

A grinder is just a better way of breaking up a bud than using your fingers. If you use the later technique the THC glands in up sticking to your fingers. I bet I've wasted grams of kief breaking up buds the old fashioned way...

If the grinder has a Kief catcherm it can be used to lace a joint, or smoked as hash
