Today was a great day... started out getting up early, having a nice shave and bathe.... cup of chamomile/green tea, and going off to an easy, laid back, getting off early day at work.. Go to visit my dad, because i got off early, figured i'd see if he needed some smoke... he informs me when i get there (after a few minutes of awkward silence) that his brother, one of my close uncles, died yesterday......

this just completely smashed my day.... you dont really think about people leaving until they actually do... and then you realize how fucked it is.... to make it even better, I have nothing to smoke at the moment, so I have to deal with it head on.... and to make it better, my wife doesnt know him at all... she is unphased by the whole situation (except for my outward pain of course)..... shit.

Dont drink to cope with the pain cause you have no bud (thats what i did)

Sorry to hear that. It sucks dealing with death. Hang in there, man.

its just really an odd kind of situation.... its actually not my blood, but my stepdad's family, (whom i call FATHER until i die) but thats the thing.... he doesnt have anyone to grieve with.... him and my mother got divorced ages ago, and thier children were too young to know the man when he was alive and living in the area.... besides me and his ex-wife, he really has no-one to grieve with.... and me and him have never had much of an open emotional relationship... it is there to the fullest, but we both have kept the machismo approach as far as expressing our feelings.... i dont even know how to help the man out right now... yet i know he is hurting; he is the last male left out of his familial generation, and he deals daily with his own medical problems... yet all i can say is "call me if you need anything"..... what does one do here???/
