Sorry I didn't read were you said this was like your 5th time a easy way to start seeds is to put them outside then bring them in when they sprout.Do you think you could be overwatering?

what did you do to fuck up your first grow??

my very first indoor grow..

i put my plants in some storebrand soil

and threw some 4ft floresnts lights over them and grew away...

18/6 veg....then...12/12..

i got high as hell off my first grow...( bag seed )

granted i was younger i didnt know alot..

but i had the pataints.... i left them alone...

i water them when need be..and left them on the timer...

i used the 4ft tubes the whole time...

i know better now ofcourse...lol......

Hmmmmmm. I've found it's easy as pie. Sorry to hear of your troubles. I had trouble at first germinating seeds. I was pre soaking and planting them too deep, I think. Now i just stick em in 1/4 inchand water em. I was trying too hard at first. That was my problem.

sorry about those negative vibes but thanks for the positive ones. just planted my next batch of already germinated seeds. luckilly, I had felt the failure coming so I started more seeds after I planted the last ones. who knows what the problem is as far as I've read I've done the right stuff. this time I planted them closer to the surface with hopes that it works. thanks again guys.

It's probably something simple you're doing wrong.

Your soil has extra pearlite for good drainage?

Your containers have an inch of pearlite (or other drainage material) in the bottoms)?

Your containers have drainage holes that's aren't being restricted?

You're letting the soil dry out between watering's? African violets like constant moisture, MJ likes some dry spells.

Your water doesn't contain clorimine?

You aren't frying your seedling with too much light/heat?

What kind of lights cfl's? If so keep them 5" away for the first week. Floro tubes can be closer

What could be killing your seedlings right out of the gate?

You're starting in small containers so the can dry out between watering's?

Waiting to water until the top inch of soil is dry before watering again? Don't keep the soil moist, wait until it looks crusty, and the container is light.

Misting them a couple times a day for the first week?

Humidity is good 50% or higher
