Photoshop can be very overwhelming when starting out. I recommend picking up one of the many books available, particularly the photoshop Bible. If you're feeling kinda cheap, then just walk into a Borders or Barnes And Noble and read a couple of the books there or check out some of the magazines. You can usually find a couple of good tutorials and you don't have to pay for them.

Don't expect to have it mastered in any short amount of time. I've got about 8 years under my belt and I'm still learning and learning.

... if you want something that is practically the same, but is open source (meaning free as shit for everyone, without cracks to illegally use downloaded copies)
