I live in an apartment (part of an old house) and my about 2 months after I started my grow my landlord came over and said there was something wrong with the power. I told him it was a piece of sound equipment that I kept running and that I wouldnt use it any more. The funny thing was what triggered him coming over. He brought the bill which shows you the current usage for the month and then last years usage. The month of may cost $205...the previous year cost for the month of may was only $50. I got worried so I called my girl told her we had to get rid of our plants and stop growing but then I thought... Now I have been in my current place for over a year and I love the air conditioner and love T.V., video games, and computers, and I love leaving lights on I knew that there was no way the electric bill was only 50$ so I checked out the rest of the bill and found out that the 50$ charge was for 9 days of use the previous year. I was so pissed(an happy). I showed him his little mistake and told him that we'll keep an eye on our power output and to let us know month to month what it was going to be. I was very relieved. I'm now 4 days into flowering with more and more plants showing sex and im gunna pick em in a couple months and have dank buds and be high for a very long time...lol probably as high as I am now if you couldnt tell...haha. I just really wanted to share my hectic day of trying to figure out how a 400w grow op could be such a risk...WTF lol

To the OP: If it is a utilities paid rental...you should find out how much the average monthly bill would be and offer to pay the extra for your "excessive electronics and comfort", otherwise the extra hundred bucks is gonna piss this guy off and make him try to figure it out. After all it is your power usage, and a small price to pay for your own buds.
