I'm glad I took a second look at that bill. I think what really got me was that he even thought that an electric bill would be so low. 50$ for a month of use would be like living in the dark for a month. If anything he shoulda thought something was wrong with the low end not the high end. Also it isnt just me, we share a meter with another part of the house so for him to assume that the power consumption was me kinda erked me a little bit. I get where you're coming from when you say you'd kick his ass, because I felt like I coulda but I'm pretty sure that woulda busted my op just as quickly...haha

It sounds like the Lanlord is paying part or all of the electric bill. That is very rare in these parts.

Better yet, assult your landlord when you are growing... Ummm yeah.

If you are living in someone elses house you have to have respect for them and their property just as they should have respect for you. Alsways try to get along with those in position around you. It never benifits you to cause problems.

Also, anyone who rents their house is not doing it for fun. It is a business. And they are not in it to loose money. Don't treat everyone around you like they owe it to you.

He made a mistake, and you pointed it out to him. Sounds like problem is over.

Please don't build a disrespect issue in your mind over this. It does no one any good.

I'm very respectful dont worry...and I'm a great tenant. But being my first place I was unaware of how the electric company works. To them 150-200 is a lot for an electric bill...i know when I lived at home we spent min. 350$ a month on electric. Its just adapting and good communication that will get us through this.

i dont know where you live, but $350 is WAY too high for a monthly power bill..... i am ALL electric here, and our bill only hit us for a bit less than $75 last month..... you should go through the house and swap out all of your lights for cfl's.... and then assess where else you can save some money on electricity.... 350 is just outrageous unless you are running a FEW badass grow ops.

Do you live in an apartment? or a row home? They tend to have lower electric bills because it's harder for the cool air to escape in the summer becasue the other side of the walls is cool too. Or do you not use AC? $75 a month is rediculously low here. Unless you stay in the dark for the most part.
