Marijuana leads to harder drugs

Been watching our local news here in London and getting tired of hearing the same old argument against marijuana.
"We must close these cannabis farms down as smoking it leads people to harder drugs"

Such bullshit, I'm sure it can, but every smoker I know smokes a joint and that's it.

Just wondering how many of you guys take harder drugs because you started smoking pot?

Its all up to the person really. I know some kids that won't touch even a cigarette much less a pill but they smoke bud every day. Then you got the ones that do coke,bud,heroin. Different people do different things.

I been smoking pot for 17 years and am proud to say I've never tried hard drugs.
1 time though

....... I tried mushrooms and that was about 4 months ago.
I consumed 12gr and had one crazy night!!!
Best way I can describe it is this, I felt like I was looking at the world for the first time again!

I went on to try plenty of harder drugs after trying pot..

But really I'd say Alcohol was my gateway drug, or maybe cigarettes, that was my first 'Addiction'.

just because some one takes harder drugs doesnt mean weed lead on to it,
i know people who smoke bud but wont smoke fags and i know people who do coke but wont touch bud.

if ppl choose to do harder drugs it has nothing to do with the fact they have been smoking ganja

This is exactly why I get pissed off watching UK politicians and police blaming marijuana on kids taking harder drugs.

I tried pot before going on to harder drugs, but I wouldn't exactly say weed lead me to harder drugs.

I would agree with Jointsmith in saying tobacco and alcohol are actual gateway drugs. As far as the cannabis gateway theory is concerned: Rubbish! Cannabis prohibition is a gateway to harder drugs.

The gateway theory is a big brick in the anti-cannabis wall of deception. Personally, I prefer cannabis and I did my share of experimentation. LSD is fun, but not meant for regular consumption. Same goes for mushrooms and ecstasy. Cocaine was so awesome the one time I tried it, but coming down scared the living shit out of me. Once was enough. And I never tried angel dust, heroin, crystal meth, or crack. I would like to give peyote a chance if given the opportunity.

After careful consideration I chose cannabis as my drug of choice.
