Default Best Rap Music
I love rap music now. But my younger years was rock. I never gave the whole genra much thought until MC Hammer. (lame, i know, but that was my generation) Then I found Tupac and Biggie.

But today, I am sick to death of the rap clones. Everyone saying the same 3 verses: I got my nine...rollin' on 24's...the bitches and hos love me.

I heard some dude on the radio complaining about the same thing and he was listing the old great rappers that actually tell stories in their songs. And each song on the album sounds different. I hadn't heard of most of them.

So, I'm lookng to make a list of the great rap music I have to check out. Can anyone hip me to some of your favorite great artists for the list? Preferably, best to listen to when .

These are my all time favorites:

The old Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
A Tribe Called Quest
Nas
Andre Nickatina
Public Enemy
KRS-One
The Beastie Boys
Celly Cel
Coo Coo Cal
Dilated Peoples
Jurassic 5
The Luniz
Eazy E (occasionally)
Pharcyde
Freeway
The Geto Boys
Nappy Roots
Gangstarr
Jay-z
Lighter Shade of Brown
Blackalicous
Mac Dre
Mos Def
Talib Kweli
Outkast
Scarface
Spice 1
Wu-Tang stuff

It's a lot, but if I had to choose which artists to listen to forever, it would be them. Tupac and Biggie are a part of that, they need no introduction.

This is gonna sound lame but my favorite rapper of all time has to be a guy called 'Cannibus.'

Not because of the name..he's just good.

I like maxi jazz lyrics as my signature says.

Have a look into faithless tunes such as weapons of mass destruction, if loving you is wrong he also did another tune with an oz band and robbie williams but i cant remember what its called right now, i'll see if i can find it.

Maxi jazz lyrics in my opinion are one of the best, he doesnt use any bad language and is really clever with his rhyming.
