Why do you grow marijuana? Is it medical, recreational, strictly a hobby? Do you make seeds for seed banks? Are you a dealer or do you own a dispensary? I'm curious to why you grow and If there may be a cool back story behind why you started. Please don't post any names or locations I dont give a shit where you are from...be smart

I started growing this year to see if I could save some money. I used to smoke pot off and on since I was in middle school. Well I'm all grown up now and have my own bills and apartment and a wonderful lady that I'll be spending the rest of my life with. Well the reason for my growing is her. She gets awful awful cramps and migraines. When she was a teenager she was hit in the face with a metal baseball bat and ever since then she has had these problems. She describes it as having menstrual cramps all the time. She is unable to take certain meds because they have been known to have fatal side effect in people with chronic migraines. Well the solution was simple. We started buying weed. First by the ounce then buy the QP. It gets expensive and only certain strains seemed to help...ussually if I spent over 300 a oz it did the trick. Well I got tired of dishing out the cash and its come down to growing. It's a nice hobby. I run a small closet grow and once my first crop goes into flower I'll be starting my next crop in the vegging station. I'm excited because now I can grow a few strains and hopefully find the ones that work best in different situations. We've run into people who have the same problem as her and a few of them smoke to keep it from ruining their lives. I feel so bad for her and it makes me feel better being able to help her like this. I would love to be able to grow on a larger scale and help more people...So that's my story. I look forward to hearing yours. -J

That's a nice story. I have been smoking for past 5 years on and off. But I'm still a noob to growing and so forth. Myself and a friend have some financial problems, so we've started dealing in small quantities to friends. The source of my income is pretty decent as we buy for very cheap and sell it at a higher price to new smokers. I have started to grow 2 plants in our cupboard (1 white widow, 1 afghan kush) hopefully they will germinate properly and make us some cash. Thats my story for now

The reason why I started growing is because I got tired of paying obscene prices for shit weed.
And also having to deal with the bad elements of society.

I remember like it was yesterday.
Me and some friends were sitting in my garage smoking shit weed that we just paid a boat load of money for.
We were hacking our balls off and not even getting high.
That weekend I went out and bought Jorge Cervantes grow bible.
In the 10 years that I've been growing I've spent well over 5 grand on growing.
But I've made my money back and then some.
Over the years I've rebuilt my entire system at least 3 times.
Now I'm to the point where growing is a part of my life.
Lately, I've been contemplating on continuing to grow, due to the fact that I need to concentrate on other areas of my life that need more attention.

If I would of known what it took to grow great bud when I was sitting in my garage hacking my balls off on shitty weed,
I probably wouldn't of started growing.
Growing great weed, takes alot of:
Education
Money
Time
Patience
Sacrifices
and Risk.
But I'll never know what I would've of done.
One thing I can say is.
I did it....Now I have some great stories for my Grandkids.

Heres my reasons:

Tired of sitting in sketchy ass parking lots waiting for sketchy ass people
Tired of paying $500 + for an ounce of some dank ass headie weed
Tired of people running out of the dank ass headie weed cus I've been buying it all from them
Tired of calling people for something to burn and getting the "I'm busy/I'm working right now" excuse
Tired of people always trying to sell me some straight up garbage for a way over-priced amount
Tired of being let down when people say they got exotics when they arent smart enough to know its beasters

The list could go on and on but I'll stop there... the best reason of all though is..... besides grow expenses IT'S FREE!!!!!

I have been smoking just about everyday since the age of 16... so it's nice to have my own success to roll up and smoke, enjoy the fruits of my own labor you feel me?!!

i got tired of paying for an ounce and getting like 24 gr. plus it being shitty ass weed when they be saying its some killa! yea know! so i grow my own and smoke my own i dont sell! once in a blue moon i might give my brother in law abought a 1/2 ounce out of a q.p

Hahaha I think your grandkids will appreciate your stories of illegal grow operations lol. Do you think that it is something you pass on to them. I know I would be thrilled if my grandfather proposed teaching me the fine art of growing MJ. I know I can't totally relate to where you stand as I have been only growing as of this year, but I see this as being a valuable addition to my life and I'm glad I've gotten into it and thankful that what I am doing can help people. Growing has certainly filled a hole for me. And it's nice havin great weed around all the time...

I was reading a thread posting by some guy who wanted to harvest 10lbs ever 8 weeks and I was reading through everyones responses and thought about all the people who are in this community and all the different reasons they grow. I can't wait to smoke my next crop. I just hope I get enough yield to hold my girl over until the following crop finishes. I hope you have much more success in years to come!

Sounds great man. I know where you're coming from gettin shorted on ur bags. I used to more through dealers when I would get an oz and only get 23g or so. I wouldnt make a fuss over it until the fucker would call me up a week later asking me if I needed anything and I would tell him no from your cheap ass. I actually had one dealer drop off an extra 5 or 6 grams and say he was sorry...I learned that all drug dealers arent bad and that it's all just business. Some of my dealers gave great presentation and good variety, but in the end you're right. This is much better. Thanks for posting.

It's very fun...and its probably a good thing you don't know any dealers...one less group of people to find out about your operation...

It's certainly fun to look after the plants and I wish my GFs brother would give me some free trees lol. The best part is going to bed and waking up the next morning with 2-3 inches of growth. Good luck with your grow! Thanks for sharing!
