What do you think. Wish they where a lil bit closer to the $0.10 USD/WATT. Just your start up cost, and batteries and you would be set for years? Maybe I'm just too stoned. Thats how some growhouses should be. a generator and a shitload of solar panels!

Korea: Researchers from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology in collaboration with Professor Alan Heeger from the University of California have developed a solar cell that is much cheaper and more efficient.
Previously most solar cells had struggled to reach efficiencies of 5% and cost $2.30/watt. The newly developed cells cost $0.10/watt and have an efficiency of 6.5%. The team expects to raise this to 15% by the time it is commercialised in 2012.
The efficiency makes the technology as it stands now suitable for commercial purposes. The breakthrough could bring Korea to the forefront in the push for clean energy. The findings are published in the July 13 issue of 'Science'.

good idea, if you have up front costs it pays out in the long term... its most useful when you build a new house, easier to absorb those costs and no need to REdo things, which is more expensive.

enough to consistently generate 1000w or so, and batteries that can hold enough for when the sun is down.

Its been said best before, if your gonna use solar power, your better off just using the sun itself.

I'd like to see people taking advantage of lenses/the sun for their indoor grows, it would be a great idea and save loads of $, but of course unless your autoflowering you have less control over flowering.

where their is a will, their is a way!
