North Carolina Legislature Considers Medical marijuana Reform
Support HB 1380 and HB 1383 NORML is pleased to announce that House Bill 1380, an act to exempt qualified medical cannabis patients from state arrest and prosecution, has been filed in the state legislature.

Passage of House Bill 1380 will ensure that "qualified patient[s] shall not be subject to arrest, prosecution, or penalty in any manner, or denied any right or privilege, including, but not limited to, civil penalty or disciplinary action by a business or occupational or professional licensing board or bureau, for the possession of or the medical use of marijuana if the quantity of marijuana does not exceed an adequate supply."

A second bill, HB 1383 -- calling for a medical marijuana referendum to go before the state voters -- is also before the legislature.
