it doesnt seem to hard to grow..me and a few friends have thought about buying a kit and some spores..its not to expensive, depending on what spores you get..ive seen they range from around $30.00 to $90.00

Its not hard at all. Before you shell out 200-300 You can DIY for under 50, grow around 2 pounds a month and have an endless supply of spores,

I would like to pick up some poppy seeds. Anyone have experience growing these "flowers"?

That's exactly what I was thinking about.

If you were going to grow poppys you would make more money in heroin than opium if you could refine it which must not be that hard since theres so much heroin out there. I supose you could grow it at home except they get pretty big (they grow in fields in asain countrys) at least the kind you want. After you grow it its not hard to make the opium, you just scrape the white stuff off of the inside of the shell thing that grows around the flower before falling off (if left naturally) than it turns brown and

Yeh, I know how to get Opium once I have the flower. I just don't know anything about the plant itself, I.E. which strain, veg cycle, flower cycle, etc... If it's just like growing weed, then it wouldn't be too hard.

Also, I would be growing the poppies for personal use, not for sale. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to this drug; I prefer opium. So I wouldn't synthesize it into heroin. (Opium->Morphine->heroin).

Alright so i was looking around and found some more information on opium poppys and suposedly you can grow them right from poppy seeds used in cooking (Opium poppy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Wikipedia so dont know if its reputable) so you guys out there wanting to grow it just go pick yourself up a bagel and start germinating.
