Default Buyer Beware: Northwest Glass Art/Dodo Glass

    Hey guys,
So a user recently posted a link to site, http://www.dodoglass.com, that offered very low prices on glass pieces (compared to most head shops). I looked through the website a bit, and when I read the "about us" section, there were some similarities to Northwest Glass Art (http://www.northwestglassart.com).
    Northwest glass's disclaimer:
"You need to be at least 18 year's old (21 in some area's) to purchase tobacco products"
    Dodo glass's disclaimer:
"All Products Intended and Sold For Legal Purposes to over 18 year's old (21 in some area's) Only!"

    Northwest glass's return policy:
"Northwestglassart.com stands by all of our products."
    Dodo glass's return policy:
"DodoGlass stands by all of our products."

It's kind of obvious its just another Northwest glass scam site. Even their layouts are nearly identical. I e-mailed Dodo Glass's customer service and asked whether they were linked to Northwest Glass Art, to which he replied "No Sir we are not"... right .

So why's it such a big deal, well for those who don't know, Northwest Glass Art selectively scams people. Just try typing "Northwest Glass Art scam" in Google and you'll see tons of results from message board posts of users who never received their stuff. Not to mention they have an "F" rating with the BBB and several complaints filed against them (http://www.bbb.org/western-washingto...od-wa-41001526).

Buyer beware, do a few quick searches on Google before ordering anything online. I wish users who post links to headshops/glass blowers would actually say whether they've actually had any experience ordering from the shop.

First of all you're wrong. We are not affiliated with dodo. They have copied and pasted verbatim, stolen product names, etc.

Secondly, google Ed Magedson, owner of rip off report. He is trying to extort money from us to remove the bogus complaints. $10,000 + $300 a month montioring fee "to put a positive spin on things" We are not allowed to reply to the complaints either, or we would.

Third, that BBB rating is based on one incident. I'll pay them , become a member and it will be an A rating. That'll be the end of that.

We've been in business for 10 years using the same credit card processor. Do you think they would allow us to rip people off for 10 years?

Please get all of your facts straight before you defame someone.

Default Chunky Glass Pipes Scam/Ripoff Rebutal

Im saying not one of those people got ripped off.... Im a little tired right now so I am just going to copy and paste what I said in another forum...

    Hello,

This is the owner of Chunky Glass Pipes (Yes, I own both Chunky and Northwest.)
And I take exception to being called a scammer. I have never scammed anyone in my life. I realize there are some bogus things said about our company. This is a very frustrating situation for us and any chance I get to clear our name I do.

These rumors stem from rip off report and a bunch of fabricated reports about us there. First off PLEASE google Ed Magedson, owner of rip off report. He is the biggest crook of them all! In order to even rebut the bogus claims against us at rip off he wants $10,000 and a $300 a month "maintenance fee" and in return they will "put a postive spin on things" I refuse, even though I've lost much more than that.

Im not here to shill anything or to convince you to buy from us. I just want it known we dont rip people off!!! I have had the same credit card processor for 10 years! What cc company would allow you to rip people off for 10 years? And obviously you cant just keep getting merchant accounts. It doesnt work that way. In fact, there are only a handful that allow you sell what we sell.

Now with that said, I must say that at times customer service has been a weakness. That has since been fixed. But you're always going to have unreasonable customers who cant be any sort of patient or reasonable. And they'll see the stuff said about us and even add to it. For instance this happens ALL THE TIME! Customer places orders friday night, uses 2-3 day priority shipping and is upset(nice way to put it) when its not there Monday.... This is where we run into problems. They search and find the negative posts. They freak out. They post there own "rip off report" and when they receive their order, they cannot update their "report". Go ahead and try it. I dont care at this point whats one more gonna really hurt? And it proves they're crooked....Thanks to the forum mods in advance for letting me defend myself!

    WE DONT RIP PEOPLE OFF.

But lets say we did. Lets say we have some magical way of processing credit cards. EVERY credit card/debit card company/bank insures you against fraud. Why wouldnt you just simply dispute the charges and be done with it? These people went on for months about it. You wanna know why? THEY WERE NEVER CHARGED! THATS WHY!

Every order placed via credit/debit card goes through a process called a pre-authorization. This means that sometimes, but not always, there is a hold put on those funds, from your bank, until we actually push the order through. Which is only done right before we box up the order.

What really happened? Terrible customer service, bottom line. We grew big time and were sorely under-staffed and unprepared for that type of growth. In addition, some of the people we tried hiring are now our competition and stole their starting inventory from us. If you look hard enough you can spot them. I've tried family members, everything. I finally found two great people and we now have solid customer service.

Yett this still lingers like an egg fart from a fat guy on 747. And there's not much I can do about it except this right here and have kick ass service and product so it gets out that we actually do kick ass. But sadly, people are much more prone to complain than praise. So it will be a process....Thanks to the Mods for letting me once again defend our reputation!

I put in a small order 2 weeks ago just to see what happens, and it hasn't cleared the bank or posted a ship date.

    Default DodoGlass

I had a great experience with DodoGlass also. I found them responsive via email and the shipping was fast.

Not sure what the actual complaint above was...

I also had good experiences with National Tobacco Alliance and Super Piece. Plus the online auction sites (ebay, eCrater, etc...) also have stuff, you just have to know where and how to look.

I read everything about northwest glass arts and decided to try it for myself. I ordered a glass dragon pipe from their site and recieved it yesterday. It hits amazing and looks really cool.

I don't work for any of them I just remember reading all these forums and getting pretty nervous that my pipe may never show up. But the truth is the shipping was rather fast and they send you a link to your email so you can even track your package... also they have a customer support hotline.

Would I order from them again?
    Yeah.

P.S. if you think i'm fake because of my post count you can email me or something and I can prove that I'm real.
