BUMPED because the title and tracklist for their new album has been released. New album will be called 'Octahedron' and will be released on June 19th!! My buddy and I are already making plans... he's taking the day off and we're having our own little album release party. FUCK YEAH!

Shitty?! Wow... never thought I'd hear that word used to describe 'em. Their most recent album blew my mind! It's one of my favorite albums of all time, now. This upcoming album is supposedly going to be a lot different from their other things... they've said it's going to be more "accessible" to a larger audience, which to me translates into a lot less weird and more conventional rock/pop sounds. Not sure if that's a good thing or not... I'll have to wait 'til June 19th to find out, I guess.

I like em. I like it when they focus on the song parts cause they're really good, but all the noise/improv stuff starts to bore the hell out of me.

There's a lot less of that in their two most recent albums... but yeah, the noise/weird shit on Frances The Mute gets to me sometimes. I have to be in the EXACT right mood to appreciate that album.

De-Loused is a flawless record from start to finish. But with each new album I become less interested. I haven't even listened to Bedlam in Goliath.

At the Drive-In never gets old, though.

I've been a fan since day 1, and its almost like they've become a joke of themselves. Cedric has gotten worse at singing. Omar sticks to his pretentious noodling on guitar.

I'm not someone who hates prog either. I absolutely love Yes and King Crimson.

Check them out at Live at the Electric Ballroom from back in 03. Now that's a tight group.

fyi- they said the same thing about Bedlam (more accessible)

ps- dont download cryptonesia. it is lol worthy

True that!

And I think you should give TBiG a listen, especially of Amputechture had you losing interest. TBiG is a great album from start to finish much in the same vein as De-loused, but it's much 'harder'... less of the jazzy-type, quiet interleudes and more facepounding rock.

I've got the electric ballroom gig, it's pretty fucking fantastic.

I love King Crimson as well!! Also, 3. But that's a different story. XD

I like Omar's guitar noodling, but I'm weird that way. XD And I agree, Cedric seems to have lost a bit of his vocal power, however he still manages to keep my interest.
