Default summer plans...hopefully

So every summer i want to get away, and work somewhere far from home. Well i been trying to find a job at a resort in florida but calling and asking has been unsuccessful. Has anyone moved away for the summer and got a job? How did you do it? Whats the best way to go about it?

side note- i live in louisiana
