I allways loved using my hands & doing labor especially construction work & union construction has been very good to me & my family,its a damm good feeling to look back at the end of a job & see what you've built with your own hands,its a feeling that ive allways loved & been extremely proud of.

And your right,it feels kick ass when you get home & take a shower or hot ass bath while your tired as hell,its a good kind of being tired though.

I cant wait till i retire next year so i can show some of the buildings ive errected that have brought me so much personal pride over the years,i look back at the last 30 years in construction & i wouldnt trade it for the world,you leave your mark long after you take the dirt nap.

What trade did you jump into if you dont mind telling or if it wont put your job in jeapordy.

i just got a new job too, it feels good to actually have a job since i wasnt doing shit for awhile

yeah, its nice to be able to say "i did that" and have something to show.... and i hate going to the same place day after day...

no trade jump though... this is a bs job through a staffing service... i didnt know that till today... thats why its commercial work at residential pay..... workin on that one though; there are a few crews on the job (such as the roofers;.. my trade) that are local and looking for help... gotta talk around a little bit... see which one is most "user friendly" and pays best

No shit,a roofer,i was a hot roofer for years before i jumped to the operating engineers union & staterd running crane,i used to do Coal Tar Pitch,Hot Asphalt BUR as well as PVC & EPDM Rubber flat work,i still hold a journeymans card in the Roofers Waterproofers & allied workers union,gonna get my pension from them next year too

i actually enjoy roofing... keeps me in shape, and makes me think harder than alot of life does... "think like water"....

dont know much about commercial roofing... i like shingles/residential... but the torch on rubber is nice in the winter... and mop on's are a MF'r..

dont know much bout unions either... heard good and bad; whats your take??

I have had office jobs and they drive me insane. Clock in, sit at seat, grab lunch, sit for 4 more hours, go home. Never see the sun, just a little cube.

I was a laborer for a while when I got out of highschool. Definitely made me wanna go back to school Id much rather be one of the guys walking around with a clip board
